The only way the networks will ever get any viewership again is to have an intelligent, informed person presenting the news. Sorry to say - Katie Couric ain't the one! Even Fox News is guilty of including a too much "cutesy" and too little substance. Right now, I'd say there's no reliable TV newscast. It's all been dumbed down.

Actually, I think she may have a point. I have often compared local anchors (and national) to good old Ted Baxter. The pompous cluelessness is dead on in most cases.She is the female version of Ted Burgundy.
