Well my good friends George and Laura have yet to see the movie United 93. To see it they have invited 2 people from each of the families of those that died on 9/11 aboard Flight 93. After a late lunch/early dinner with the President and First Lady but only one of us will be able to view the movie w/ them.
Since my mother has not seen it yet - but is ready to now - she will go in with them to view it...and I will get an up close and personal tour of the White House.
This, on the heels of Memorial Day, should be amazing. It's going to be heavy-duty on my mother but I think she'll handle it well....fingers crossed.
For anyone who has not seen it please do - it is amazing. You'll walk out having gone through every emotion possible in about 90 minutes...and you'll leave knowing full well why we are fighting.
Hope everyone had a safe and great weekend!
God Bless America,
Chris Proud son of Patrick 'Joe' Driscoll Flight 93
Never Forget Never Forgive
With that tagline I'm a bit surprised your telling me lift some of their silverware! :)

Post your pictures with POTUS and FLOTUS when you receive them. Awesome that you get to do this, very sorry for the reason though.
Congrats on getting to meet and dine with our president. I am deeply sorry for your families loss. They were the first casualties of our resistance to those who want to destroy our great country.
Memorial Day was as much for them as any one of our military.
Sorry for your loss but glad you get to meet a great President and a real First Lady.
Still one of the few films I saw in the theater that I intend to also buy on DVD when it comes out. Hard to describe what seeing it does to you.
Now, without making this a thread about any of the things that are currently frustrating out here in ConservativePoliticalLand, here's a thought: if you can bend the President's ear for a second ask him to browse FreeRepublic on occasion, or maybe even sign up for an account.
Perhaps a gentile invitation to Jim Robinson's home on the web would be educational and good for him. And if he doesn't take you up on that, hey - it never hurts to ask!
Do unto others. ;)
Amazing.
If you have the chance, please thank the President for his leadership and perseverence in the War on Terror, I am sure a few heartfelt, kind words will mean a lot to him, after all the MSM bashing he hears.
Thank you for your post. I'm sorry for you and your family's loss on 9/11. Congratulations on your visit to the White House. Your Mother is most fortunate to be able to view the movie with President and Mrs. Bush. I have never been so proud as when the United 93 passengers quickly organized themselves and took over the plane. Oh, for the few extra seconds they needed to complete their task. Each reacts to the movie in his or her own way. I sat there in silence, long after the movie ended, and felt the horror and rage, but more than anything, the pride.
You'll walk out having gone through every emotion possible in about 90 minutes...and you'll leave knowing full well why we are fighting.

I went to see this largely because of your initial report of the movie. I went several weeks after it opened and there was only one other couple in my theatre. FABULOUS movie - yes, you know full well why we are fighting. I'm looking forward to your update.

United 93 was moving, excellent and timely. We needed reminding that the terrorists are driven, relentless and must be stopped-no negotiations with them work.
The crew and passengers of United 93 were just like you and me, just Americans going about their lives. They found themselves in a tough spot and rose to the occasion like heroes. God bless them and their families.
Good point. You have the moral influence. Keep it in front of the President!
Best to your mom. I hope she takes something positive away from this experience.
When they offer wine, ask to smell the cork and send it back! Also, ask, pointedly, if the waiter is a legal immigrant!
God Bless you and your mother. I pray that his comforting arms will be around her as she views the movie. I have seen it and it is very emotional.
we will never forget.
I am thrilled that you both will be given such an honor.
and ditto the Q about Laura's perfume...that's your mother's job...
Have a wonderful time and blessings on your mother as well.
What a great honor for you and your mom. Savor every moment .. so you can remember it all your life.
Wow! This is just wonderful!
Today at our town parade my husband met a man who's son is on his third deployment in Iraq. He told my husband his son is never leaving Iraq. He lost his wife in the World Trade Center and will not stop fighting until the job is done.
