"I didn't realize there was that much hatred out there," says Maines, softly. "It was kind of a letdown. I kind of lost hope."
And she still doesn't realize that she started the hatred with her hateful comment. Or maybe she does realize it and is playing poor-widdle-me for the press.
Shocked, they are. Shocked at the *hatred out there*. And poor Natalie has lost hope. It's a shame. And a real tragedy. Hey, there's probably a good country song somewhere in their tragedy. Too bad no one will ever hear it.
There isn't. You hate me, I don't hate you. You just don't get to sing for me anymore, since I know what you think of me.
Perhaps they don't realize the support of our president, of our country, of ourselves...does not translate into this 'hate' Natalie 'feels'. Seems now she has defined our differing of opinion, a voting by our wallets as this 'hatred'. She did not receive the support she thought her continued comments should receive...so most certainly (in her own mind) it can only be hatred that is the excuse of not aggreeing with her comments.
Perhaps it's their constant stirring up this controvery, their inability to apologize, their hatred that is projected onto us, that keeps this going.
She has made derogatory comments about the president (on foreign soil), she has now derided country music fans, has been at her utmost stubborness in this whole situation. They are having PR problems and we are being made the scapegoats for these problems.
Seems playing the victim is their present defense.
