A senior aide of Al-Qaeda leader in Iraq Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi was captured in Baghdad Sunday evening.
Qasim Al-Aani, one of the most wanted people in Iraq, was arrested with two other insurgents, Defense Ministry spokesman Kassim Al-Mosawi told reporters.
Chief of the 3rd Brigades in the Iraqi Army Jawad Roomi Al-Daini told KUNA Al-Aani is a leader of an insurgent group and is behind many attacks in several Iraqi districts.
He said Al-Aani was involved in the assassination of the son of Chief Justice of Iraqi Supreme Court, Judge Madhat Al-Mahmoud, pointing out that the killer's brother, who is a member in the terrorist group, was also arrested.

How many aides does this guy have?!
Ping
cool...aides
a couple less now.
the idea is to make it an unattractive job, so no one takes it. or one of the people we capture, flips on him.
Zarqawi has as many supporters as money can buy in Iraq and as many as Wahhibi insanity can spit out in the rest of the Islamic world.
Aide identified by a burned palm: the fool who grabbed the hot barrel of the M249 in Zarqawi's un-edited video.
Aide du jour!
More than a San Francisco bath house.
Just how many Seniors aides does this zarqawi have, and how many liutenants as well?
despite all the jokes that will likely be made about this, every time we grab one of these head honchos it drives another stake into the heart of the A-Q beast.
We get actionable information, and they get one less set of hands, and the next potential "leader" is a little less certain.
The fact that it was announced so quickly is somewhat surprising.
wtf is aina?
arrested is good. now they can extract info from the ahole. hey, someone call murtha. he better fly out there to protect him.
His organization has incredible regenerative ability, far better then the origional al-Qaeda network in Afghanistan/Pakistan because al-Qaeda in Iraq has a large pool of angry and destitute Sunnis in Iraq to draw from as well as a large pool of Wahhibi nuts in Saudi Arabia, Syria, and elsewhere to draw from. Zarqawi also has an almost limitless supply of money and weapons from Syria, Iran, and rich Gulf oil barrons.
That is what we are up against.
The article is from KUNA.
We get actionable information, and they get one less set of hands, and the next potential "leader" is a little less certain.
Exactly right -
ok . . who is kuna and aina?
