The bitter battle over the immigration bill has become a legislative minefield in this election year, though it's still unclear whether November will see any heavy political fallout as a result. To put it mildly, this issue is a thorny wilderness, festering intra-party divisions and brewing voter backlashes. It could inflict additional wounds on George W. Bush's battle-scarred presidency, shrink the GOP's congressional Republican majority and, possibly, hurt some vulnerable Democrats. Let's slice up some of these pitfalls. Stand Up For America ! |
We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Or build up your armour, huh?
Snip: It's time North American auto workers and their managers devote less time to complaining about low Mexican wages and spend more effort attempting to match high quality Mexican labor. A car plant in Ramos Arizpe, 200 miles south of the U.S. border in Mexico, maintains the highest production-quality standards in the entire empire of General Motors, fading, but still the world's largest car manufacturer.
VW Passat to be made in Mexico?
Snip: Reuters reported that Volkswagen might start building VW Passat cars for the North American market in its plant in Mexico by the end of the decade following a rise in the euro above the level of $1.25, they quoted Automotive News as saying today.
Daimler-Chrysler advertising bashes America
Snip: That seems to be what DaimlerChrysler, a multinational conglomerate that includes US companies, is doing in the promotion of their Smart Car brand auto line. Smart, a green car that is compact, runs on diesel fuel and will be featured prominently in Opies The DaVinci Code, is using the slogan German engineering, Swiss innovation, American nothing on billboards in (at least) South Africa
Firestone tires - made in Mexico recalled in 2001
Snip: Brook Lindbert, GM's director of tire-wheel systems, told reporters that the tires were standard equipment on company's GMC Yukon XL 1500, and optional on Chevrolet's Suburban. The tires were manufactured during the week of April 23, 2000, after the factory had been previously closed for maintenance. While both the Yukon and Suburban are made at GM's Silao plant in Mexico, most of the SUVs with faulty tires were sold in the U.S., and about 150 were sold in Canada.
Snip: Hello. I bought a Ford Fusion on December 21 2005. After just one month and just 2200 kilometers on the odometer, a tire just lost all the tread area. I am including some pictures so you can see this. The tire is a Michelin HXMXM4 225-50-17.
I have called both Ford and Michelin customer service here in Mexico, and have tried to contact the counterparts in the US for both companies with no success, as FORD is from the US and this Michelin tires as USA made. I see this tire problem just the way the firestone tires failed some time ago with ford trucks. I am asking Michelin Mexico or Ford Mexico for the warranty and replacement of the missing tire, and a complete evaluation of the other 3 remaining tires, but I get no answer from any company.
Exactly my point in post 669.
Thanks for telling me that. I don't like hearing it!!
I saw on TV right after Katrina, Mexican Army soldiers and Mexican Army TANKS...here, but I don't remember if it was New Orleans area, or Mississippi.
Did they go back to Mexico, or are they still here?
I'm sorry, but my dear aunt, since deceased, and I researched it quite extensively.
But on the other hand......p>
.Depends on who they consider to be the dissenters. Perhaps I'm not perceiving the news properly, isn't it the illegals who are being defended by our politicians?
.The media tends to be liberal - protective of illegals and their "rights." The only field day I could foresee is media glory in seeing conservatives apprehended or incarcerated.
In a nutshell, what did you find out? Where are they taken?
Put on the armor of God, and be not without weaponry, both in the spiritual and physical realms.
Bump!
Maybe this is a bad day to begin reading my collection of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn books?
No doubt for all of the illegals aliens that have been running loose in our country for the past 20 years or so while the crapweasels in Washington did what they do best: nothing.
I looked up the word "freeper" one day on google, and one of the links, which might have been in Canada, said a freeper is a Neo-Nazi!
I am telling the truth, folks!
Anyone not doing their homework on the above-named groups will be left in the dust as changes occur (some now) in our beloved country...
All right!
I stand on Psalm 91, and Isaiah 54:17!
How odd that you mention Isaiah 54. That entire chapter has special significance to me, since 1988.
Isaiah 54:17
17 no weapon forged against you will prevail,
and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
Excerpt from Psalm 91
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you make the Most High your dwelling
even the LORD, who is my refuge-
10 then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
Ephesians 6:13
Therefore put on the full armor of God,
so that when the day of evil comes,
you may be able to stand your ground,
and after you have done everything, to stand.
Good point SA. Patrick Henry was firmly anti-federalist as was Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson was very concerned about power distribution. Patrick Henry certainly was not shy about his whole distrust of a large federal government. His position and largely quoted "I smell a rat" were instrumental in securing the Bill of Rights.
Guess.
Should read: " You can't Skirt the Border of This Issue"
Thanks
