Authorities in Orange County, Fla., arrested a 44-year-old woman who was apparently angry at a sheriff's helicopter flying over her house and allegedly shot fireworks at the aircraft in an effort to get it to move, according to police.
Sheriff's deputies were in an Orange County neighborhood near 36th Street searching for a car theft suspect late Thursday when they called for help from a sheriff's helicopter.
As the helicopter flew in the area, homeowner Emarjorie Thompson allegedly ran out of her house with a bottle rocket launcher, investigators said. Police said Thompson then shot bottle rockets at the aircraft.

In such a situation, you don't need to run faster than the bear...just faster than your buddy. Your buddy can worry about being faster than the bear.

Her sentance should be a FOD walk everyday for a year at the police landing pad.
I say arm the Sheriff's helicopters with mini-guns.
Rain down death and destruction, call it a new urban renewal program.

That seems a stretch, especially that it went *into* an aircraft. If so, she's a great shot, though.

Actually the principle is called the "Golden BB," the idea that no matter how armored and invicible you think your aircraft is, that one absolutely lucky shot will find your weak point and bring you down.
If the bottle rocket went in the engine intake and exploded that certainly could cause it to stall.
Whats up with her? I guess she got away with assaulting a Police officer..
IDIOTS like this get fireworks outlawed so those of us with common sense can't use them either. If you're facing a bottle rocket coming AT you, you don't know WHAT it is. A tracer round or antitank grenade might look similar. Evasive action in a helicopter could cause a wreck and loss of many lives.
She deserves to have the BOOK thrown at her.

A piece of pipe works a lot better, you get better aim and don't get burned.
Stupid move ,but I am not sure how many people would not feel a sense of paranoia about a helicopter hovering lowly over their house.
I used plastic 1/2 pvc pipe till a rocket stayed and melted the top after it did not launch!!!!
