Today the President Attended the Change of Command Ceremony for the Commandant of the United States Coast Guard
Later today the President will welcome British Prime Minister Tony Blair to the White House. Today's dose will also be a live thread of their Press Conference.
Yesterday the Vice President attended a joint session of Congress for an address by Israel Prime Minister Ehud Olmert
Yesterday Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice met with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohamed ElBaradei at the State Department

Blair: The impression some people get is that Iraq wants us gone from their country. Not one person I talked to, from all walks of life, want us there and to stick with it.
Bush - Once again, as the Iraqis stand up, we'll stand down as our commanders on the ground determine. The Iraqi Defense Ministry isn't set yet. We will win.
Blair - I think it's possible for Iraq to take over fast as the Iraqi PM wants. There's no excuse anymore for anybody to engage in violence in Iraq as everybody has a voice. Nobody I talked to from any of the factions want us out now.
THEY WANT US TO GET THE JOB DONE! No kidding, it's only the democrats who want us to pull out now, so we actually lose this thing.
"Two darn good looking fellows as well! :0"
Ah yes, two of the best looking leaders in recent world history!
Blair: There are threats that require us to act earlier and more effectively and we can argue the structure of how that should happen in the UN and elsewhere, but when we look at global terrorism, tehre is a clear link between the terrorism that is affecting virtually every country in the world, the terrorism that is happening in the Middle East and elsewhere, and the terrorism that is happening in Iraq and Afghanistan.
People ask if it's worth everything we're doing. It's such a huge sacrifice. And I think the answer to that is that it's worth it to those engaged in violence and terrorism, then we should have the same determination to succeed as their determination. That is a message to the international community.
Its such a pleasure to see the President looking happy and enjoying himself again. Maybe the recent staff changes are working or maybe its meeting with strong allies like Prime Ministers Howard, Ehud Olmert and Tony Blair. Whatever it is, I'm happy to see the twinkle back in his eye. Now, if members of congress, especially the republicans and more specifically that silly Hastert would stop the backstabbing, bickering and try to behave themselves it would be really nice.
President smacks down the UN!
BusH: I'd like to see a UN that's effective. That's willing to help us in the war on terror. Unabashed in their desire to spread freedom. Helpful in spreading human rights.
I'll BUMP that!
Blunt talking Bush...wants a UN that actually works....
What part don't those idiots get? When the Iraqi's are ready we will leave! Simple!
Cut and run is the preferred "policy" of libs. I call it cowardice. I was brought up to finish, not run from, what I undertook.
thanks for all the transcribing
I've got kids running on and out of the house and I'm missing parts of the presser
GET REAL...why won't you talk to Iran???? Why would you want to?
Mo.......... duct tape..............
To quote a great man "AS LONG AS IT TAKES".
I can lose the trees, just NOT the electricity (and with that the TV and computer)!!!
[Fortunately, the trees we lost were in the side yard -- the beautiful trees in our front yard stood strong just like the two leaders we're watching now!]
?: Why are you ignoring the recent overtures from Iran.
President: We spent a lot of time talking about the Iranian issue. Our goal is to convince others in the world that Iran with a nuclear weapon is dangerous. How to achieve that goal is the fundamental question.
We talked about how to convince the Iranians that the coalition we put together is serious. We strategized how to convince our partnesr that the Security Council is the way to go.
The Iranians walked away from the table. They have to suspend operations. It's dangerous to think of Iran with a nuclear weapon. Of course we'll look at all options.
