i mean 1 sounds so much better then 2

In a bid to pump up sales, Toyota said Chinese-made Camrys will be priced at 197,800-269,800 yuan ($24,700-$33,700), well below analysts' expectations. Imported Camrys last year sold for 340,000 yuan ($42,500).

Camry's in the U.S. will run from about $19,000 to about $27,000 depending on model and options. If the U.S. auto workers are making 20 to 30 times what the Chinese ones are in pay and benefits then why are the cars here cheaper?

Does anybody know where Toyota came up with that goofy name (Camry)?

I wasn't aware we sold many cars to the Chinese.

But, I thought China only made cheap stuff for WalMart and that WalMart was the only ones extorting chinese labor! You mean other companies take advantage of China too? Dang!

It is a derivative for kamuri, the Japanese word for "a small crown."

I've always wondered that myself. I don't even know what in the hell the word 'camry' means.

Camry's are good cars, but I've never been a huge fan; you're too disconnected from the road in them. It's too sedate, and it's hard to find in stick shift. The V6 version of the Nissan Altima is more of a driver's car; it screams like a NASCAR when you floor it, and is pure joy with a stick shift.

You may not know this, but the article explained that.

Detroit has bigger, more immediate problems than this.

More importantly, this is why we're seeing $3 gasoline, and why we'll probably never see $1.50 again.

I see no one that makes these cars can afford one. It would be pretty tough to buy a $24,000 car on 2 bucks an hour.

I always thought a Camry was a large South American rodent.
