Yes, they are. They have little tails about 6-7" long covered with fine, downy fur.

I wonder what Social Security this housekeeper used all those years? She must have had a paycheck in her name when she worked at the governor's mansion in Texas, even before Bush got there. Hmmmm? If she was illegal she must have used a fraudulent or stolen social security number.

Now I'm wondering if Jeb Bush's wife is here legally.

Not to worry, he says she did. Don't say anything more, because that might be "hurtful."
Florida Gov. Bush Calls Tone of Immigration Debate `Hurtful'
"My wife came here legally, but it hurts her just as it hurts me when people give the perception that all immigrants are bad," the Florida governor wrote in an e-mail exchange with The Times.

I fail to see what this little story has to do with anything. It does come from Newsweak via Newsmax so that tells me it is an attempted hit piece.

and your post--are suggesting that Bush having a Mexican American housekeeper is something to worry about My post never suggested such a thing. I have not even commented on the story. I didnt even read the story yet. I commented on a comment about the media's "1000 cuts" to try to destroy Bush and I added that lately the Bush WH has been cutting themselves. Please do not add words to my posts. You lose credibility that way.

We didn't ask, she didn't tell?

"...an illegal when she worked for Bush but when he got into the governor's office he pushed her to become legal. No wonder Bush has no problems with illegals coming here to work -- he hires them himself."
Actually, that's not how it works (Assuming she drove or flew over here, not swam). You're not considered "illegal" unless you file the proper documentation, which is only done when you cross a proper U.S. port of entry and give the border guards correct documentation, or if you came before 1986, when the last amnesty bill was passed.
We'll let this story develop. Bush is clearly on defense in this situation. The question is, if it turns out to be much ado about nothing (If the immigrant in question fits in the last 2 criteria), is he blitzing using the 46 defense or just playing prevent using the quarter defense?

The comments on this thread illustrate how cynical and pathetic the immigration hawks have become. Amen to that.

Dear Gov. Bush and Mrs. Bush (in case you're lurking),
That's why the term "ILLEGAL" immigrant is used.
Those are the immigrants that give folks migraines.
Hope that clears things up for you two.
