No preference in this election really, but I didnt see a live thread yet, and I believe polls have closed or are near doing so.

Rootin' hard for Nagin here. A Landrieu win could do wonders to keep LA a Dem state (with the help of his sister). Keeping Nagin in power will give us a chance.

They really dont have much to vote for. Tweedle Dee or Tweedle Dum. Neither is worth the price of a gallon of gas to get to the polls.

My sense is that "too close to call" early on election night probably means a big win for the conservative guy.

streets are still strewn with rusting, mud-covered cars

I heard (I think on Rush) that some Texas outfit offered to buy up and remove all of the abandoned cars, which would have given the City millions of dollars, and SchoolBusNagin turned the offer down. How could anyone be stupid enough to re-elect this loser?

Imus has had an hilarious spoof on Nagin going on for several weeks.

Just out of curiosity, did Nagin get those buses running today to ship people off to the polls? LOL!

Having Nagin 'oversee' the rebuilding of New Orleans would be like putting Captain Edward John Smith in charge of raising the Titanic.

they can't call it cause half the city is working off of cell phones still, and pollsters can't call cells .. and a good % of population still hasn't returned, but they got the busses running for them, amazingly.

My wild guess, is that Nagin will get 55% of the vote. What do I base that on? Nothing, except the Couhig endorsement, and feeling the ether in the air. Nagin needed to be shreaded, and instead, it was a very polite affair. Status quo ante rules. There was no compelling reason for a change.

Buisness as usual regardless of who wins. New Orleans will be open again for corruption and incompetence. Either the idiot who hid during Katrina or the son of one of the most corrupt governors in the nations history.

I want Nagin to win. The Landrieu family is to Louisiana what the Kennedy family is to Massachusetts.

I have to hold my nose, but I hope Nagin wins. He's a buffoon, but I don't think he can do as much damage as Landrieu. With Moon Jr. in charge, millions of federal dollars would literally go down the toilet.
