"I think the driving age is fine at 16 and accidents are caused by 1st year drivers no matter what their age."

I got into an accident on my first night out alone. A lady slammed on her brakes in front of me at a light that had just turned yellow, and I TAPPED her bumper. Two years later a magistrate comes to my house with legal papers from where she was suing me for $150,000. She settled with my insurance for $9,000.

I hit a lady one time going about 5 miles an hour. She was fine and moving around the whole time, but when the officer came, she kicked off some part that was already broken and then also asked my insurance company for buckoo bucks for "treatments."

When I finished a series of driving lessons and got my regular license 27 years ago the driving instructor offered some words of profound wisdom: "You might have your license but you really are still learning. You won't be a real driver until about two years from now when you have experienced winter, heavy rain, and all sorts of other conditions. You might have your license but you're still a beginner...and will be for a couple more years."
