I wonder if it's possible for an American to renounce his citizenship, remain here in the country as an illegal alien, and be under these easier rules (in enacted) for receiving Social Security.

This is a betrayal of public trust. Betrayal of truth. If an American statesman did this a couple of generations ago he would be gone end of story. People have no voice! When the people have lost their voice this republic has failed.

Given the current state of affairs, would it make sense for US citizens to lie about about being illegal-aliens and apply for a new IDs? I mean, how will the government track this?
One could collect under the original SSN and again under the new SSN. Am I missing something here? If no, then what's to prevent fraud in the millions?
It is time to change SS #s I guess. Isn't it our duty as patriotic Americans to help out the soon to be bankrupt system, by paying into it with multiple accounts? That way the "nest egg" we are building for ourselves, will help us in our dottage 2 years from now. If it is good enough for our southern born buddies, it is good enough for all.
