Could be a Rovian plot for NK: how long can Kim Jong Il keep the lid on if there were nothing stopping reunification? The US may cut a deal with China also-- help get rid of Kim, and US troops withdraw from SK.

South & North Koreans are working side by side in some factories on both sides of the DMZ.
We have a 53 year truce with the North.
I am not comfortable with peace treaties with Communists but we have one with China, sort of.
Might not be a bad idea,if Kim Jong Il would go along.

We'll see what happens. I'll trust the guy who convinced the UN to vote unanimously for war in Iraq even though they reneged on it later (they claimed later they were just voting for the possibility of military action or censure or some such crap).

How about if the U.S. enters into a deal with a U.S. paint company and buys 400,000 gallons of paint that can be broadcast by airplane. Then we could paint a massive bullseye on Pyongyang.

THEN, ask the Kimster if he'd like to have a chat.

Clinton and Carter resurrected!!

Oh, puhleeeese. If you're using hyperbole, it's the worst sort of hyperbole. On the other hand, if you really believe that, you really shouldn't be allowed out without a minder.

Let's see. Just a very, very brief summary:

Carter destroyed the Shaw of Iran, giving us the Ayatollah Khomeini, and leading directly to the dangerous situation we have in Iran today.

Khomeini's return to Iran gave rise to the radical Islamist movement we are battling today.

Carter's and later Clinton's weak responses to Iranian and Islamist provocations led to the widespread belief in the Islamist world that the U.S. is a weak paper tiger. That led to the rise of Osama bin Laden and the events of 9/11/01.

Carter's "peace process," later carried foward by Clinton, nearly destroyed Israel.

Clinton's negligence and Carter's interference led to North Korea developing nuclear weapons. India developed nuclear weapons on Clinton's watch and the Pakistanis followed. The Taliban came to power in Afghanistan on Clinton's watch. There were more large-scale deadly terrorist attacks against Americans on Clinton's watch than at prior time in history, culminating in the hijackings of 9/11/01 only 7 1/2 months after Clinton left office.

Also on Clinton's watch, someone managed to get their hands on and refine weapons grade anthrax. It was deployed simultaneously with the 9/11 attacks.

LOL!

That will happen when Bush's approval rating falls below 20%.

After listening to Bush pander to both sides in his immigration speech, nothing would surprise me!
