What are you trying to imply, that Mexican sports fans have bad taste, or do you actually believe that there exists a strong sentiment of support for Al Qaeda in Mexico? If it's the former, you're absolutely correct. If it's the latter, you're off your rocker.

A few first tried to burn, then trampled a small American flag while chanting 'Osama! Osama!'
Classy!

I think there was also a soccer match in Los Angeles where Mexicans chanted "Osama," but I can't find any links.

"During a game between the US and Mexico February 15 (1998, L.A. Coliseum), the US soccer team was not only booed and jeered throughout the entire game by Mexican fans, but were continually pelted with water, beer and in some cases solid objects like fruit from the over 60,000 fans in attendance. Saw the highlights of the game that night on a local LA station, and it was reported that "urine bombs" (water ballons with urine) were being thrown not only at the American players but at the (few) fans in attendance who had the nerve to actually root for the (home?) American team. (Our National Anthem was booed, as well).
This all highlights the fact that the allegiance of the vast majority of both illegal aliens and legal Mexican-Americans resides with their third-world hellhole of origin. (There are exceptions, of course). They despise us out of envy, and aim to take back what they believe to be theirs by breeding like rabbits -- anchor babies away! No fear of deportion, no intention of assimilating.

Who gives a sh-t about a bunch of stupid soccer fans. Reminds me of the OVERREACTION by Calipornia Conservatives when the Mexicans booed the national anthem.

Don't remember ever seeing a video of it. But I searched anyway and found
this video of a practical joke someone purportedly played on some day laborers. Kind of amusing. Probably a fake though. 'Course, in any event, turning them into the INS or helping law enforcement in any way is seen as racist.

I read a thread earlier in the week which reported that Americans booed during the playing of the Canadian National Anthem before a hockey game in the US.

The level of violence at the Los Angeles Coliseum has increased so much that you actually have alerts during "traffic reports" to avoid the area when these "international soccer matches" are going on.
Those are the code words to listen for.

Does anyone have the video shown on the news where Ben Laden masks and T-shirts were being sold by vendors on the streets of Mexico City, with thousands of people celebrating? That was a hot one that has become even more rare to see than the attack on the twin towers. The news media doesn't like to inflame our passions.

Now, the rivalry between these two national teams has become pretty heated as the US has become a somewhat meager soccer power of sort... Currently ranked fifth in the world in a sport which few people in this country take seriously. Imagine if the US ever became serious about the game. In Mexico it's a religion.
