Breaking News: FBI Searches Wooded Area for Hoffa
By Cheryl Chodun
Web produced by Seth Myers
May 17, 2006

A group of FBI investigators is searching a wooded area in the vicinity of Milford and Wixom in connection with the 1975 disappearance of Teamsters’ leader Jimmy Hoffa.

Investigators have cordoned off a section of woods where the bones of the long-missing union official may lie.

Hoffa was last seen at the Mocas Red Fox restaurant in Bloomfield Township in July 1975.

Speculation regarding his whereabouts – or his body’s whereabouts – certainly comes and goes.

Recently, a mob hitman named Richard "The Iceman" Kuklinski wrote a book claiming that Hoffa’s body was compacted in a car that became scrap metal in New Jersey.

Kuklinski died in prison earlier this year. His book, The Ice Man: Confessions of a Mafia Contract Killer, is set to be published in July.

In 2004, investigators searched a Detroit home when another mobster claimed Hoffa was killed there. Investigators ruled blood found in the house was not Hoffa’s.

There was a story in the Daily Interlake a few weeks ago about a pilot, whose plane went down 40 years ago. A dog was able to still smell the jet fuel and decaying human remains.

I'll have to find the story and post it.

If they don't find hoffa maybe they'el find:

Ted Keneddys long lost mind.

Hillary's long lost integrity

Harry Reids long lost intelligence

Chuck Schumers long lost honesty

Bill Frists long lost Spine

and a few other things.

whose plane went down 40 years ago.

Recently, I sat next to a liberal on an airplane who had been a hippie 40 years ago. I could still smell him too.

Wow, a blast from the past. Speaking of old crimes, there have probably been more DB Cooper sightings in the past 30 years than Claudine Longet sightings.

It'd be a boon for the publishing industry, a whole bunch of books would get reprinted with a new last chapter.

10 to 1 they don't find him alive.

I don't know. The food at the Red Fox wasn't that bad.

Geez, good thing they found it now. Algor's global warming might have accelerated the decomp and evaporation of VOCs.

When I was in school in VT, some 30 years ago, the April 1 edition of the school paper had a story about Hoffa's body
being found in a school construction project.

And I remember hearing on Art Bell a while back, that Jimmy Hoffa's ghost was wandering a railroad crossing in PA
someplace, because his body was buried near there.

The LSM just doesn't get it. Geraldo killed off gangster "speculation" years ago.

That makes more sense than other location theories. Why take the risk of transporting the body out of state, to the Meadowlands, for example.

Why're you ripping on Claudine? Not that she could be considered an "actress" in the professional meaning of the
word, but she was in one of the funniest movies ever made, The Party.

No, it's out beyond the suburbs in far Oakland county. In the 70's it was the middle of nowhere.

How do you find bones that have been dead for 31 years?

They are looking for an oversized pinkie ring.

I would never rip Claudine. She is my favorite involuntary manslaughterer of all time, and I can still get into the beat when she belts out "Hello Hello."

Mocas Red Fox

That should have been the Machus Red Fox restaurant. On the north side of the Detroit area, near Selfridge AFB.

The place closed in 1996, but a new Italian restaurant, Andiamo, is now in business at the old location. The original owner, Harris Machus, passed away four or five years back.

Where is Geraldo when you really need him?

He's the suspect with the mustache in the Duke Lacrosse Team rape case.
