A group of FBI investigators is searching a wooded area in the vicinity of Milford and Wixom in connection with the 1975 disappearance of Teamsters leader Jimmy Hoffa.
Investigators have cordoned off a section of woods where the bones of the long-missing union official may lie.
Hoffa was last seen at the Mocas Red Fox restaurant in Bloomfield Township in July 1975.
Speculation regarding his whereabouts or his bodys whereabouts certainly comes and goes.
Recently, a mob hitman named Richard "The Iceman" Kuklinski wrote a book claiming that Hoffas body was compacted in a car that became scrap metal in New Jersey.
Kuklinski died in prison earlier this year. His book, The Ice Man: Confessions of a Mafia Contract Killer, is set to be published in July.
In 2004, investigators searched a Detroit home when another mobster claimed Hoffa was killed there. Investigators ruled blood found in the house was not Hoffas.
How do you find bones that have been dead for 31 years? I assume dogs can't pick up the scent? You would have to have a pretty darn good idea where they are.
gezzzzzzzzz who's runnin' the FBI these days? Larry, Moe & Curley?
***
I think those were the last three FBI directors.
Does anybody care anymore? What makes Jimmy so special that they gotta find him? It's not gonna make or break my day.
The drawing on the left looks like Lee Harvey Oswald.
No body. Blood stains on the floor were Hoffa's though....
This investifgation was caused by a biography of Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran who claimed to be the killer.
He probably has in his possession Nixon's winning Illinois ballots from 1960.
Crap. I'd hate to lose the ledgend of the Meadowlands.
or the legend...(sigh)
The Feds are sure gonna be disappointed when all they find is a small cabin inhabited by Dan Rather. Inside the cabin will be a studio TV camera and a fax machine.
Shemp, Shemp, Shemp!
I can't understand why the FBI would care? Why spend the money-let Detroit spend it if they want to know where he went?
"Mr. Hoffa will always be a cornerstone of the Teamster organization."
Phew. I thought it was Eric Shawn too...but figured my mind was going. He's done great work on the UN story.
You are absolutely correct about Shep.
well looks like Gretas gonna sign on with Fox now for another 3 years.
I hear Custer said the same thing in 1876.
Or was it Dick Shawn? Same difff...
Kinda too late for THAT, isn't it? ;)
Good thing the FBI is working on finding Hoffa rather than finding terrorists.
NJTransit trains have been delayed due to fires in the Meadowlands area recently. Wondering if they're burning the bodies buried there in preparation for the new stadium.
10 to 1 they don't find him alive.
