The history I cited was and is correct. You want to add a whole bunch of other stuff so you can make excuses for politicians, by all means have at it. It means nothing to anyone but you.
Despite all the nonsense you pretend I said, but I never did, two Republican Presidents nominated and supported two liberal judges. They were either stupid, or didn't have the guts to look the liberals in the eyes and escalate the battle. A lot of apologists claim the SCOTUS seats are the most important thing a conservative President can do, yet it isn't important enough to fight to the bitter end.
Alternately, the Republicans aren't very conservative. Like the current guy. He is what he is, but he never claimed to be conservative. A good thing since he is not.
BTW, the jury is still out on the two he just put in. (pun intended) Not to mention the one HE ACTUALLY wanted, who was certainly not conservative.
The fact is, electing Republicans doesn't necessarily lead to conservative judges.
