I think you are far, far, far too accurate for anyone to take any comfort in your words.
I wish more were so aware.

But guess what, at the hog rendering plant they pay almost 16 an hour and y9ou wanna know why it is almost all mexican labor there? The non mexican folks got so fed up with all the illegals and all the spanish that they just refused to work there anymore. Your above stinks more than the hog rendering plant. It's probably jobs that Americans won't do, but you don't want to admit it, so you come up with some lame excuse.

This is from the National Journal's
Hotline:
2. Karl Rove briefs the House GOP; plaudits from Bill Thomas; doubts from many others. The majority of the majority rule still stands. The bottom line: Bush needs to persuade about 40 House members to change their minds on a guest/temporary/amnesty/whatever program.

"Two complaints that go together so often are "selling us out of the border" and "big government spender"."
Glad I'm not the only one whose noticed that. A wall will cost us hundreds of billions of dollars just to build, nevermind man and maintain. And while it's being built the anti-Bush allthetime crowd will be whining about government spending.

I think he IS risking it, but I think that the full magnitude of the BorderBot movement and the cost of its defection is not being properly registered by the decision takers.I think you are exactly right. I live in Phoenix, I work in Tempe, it is all you hear talked about when you can manage to find people who speak english. They do NOT understand the seriousness or the massive influx and what it has done.
Do you know why there was very little turnout for the rally on May 1st? Because on the last rally, it was announced that there was a 50% absentee rate at many of the schools. That scared the life out of many of the activist here since over 80% of the property tax goes to pay for schools.

(Allow in a legal immigrant for every illegal alien deported.)
To: Pukin Dog
Dog,
I wanted to add this to your comments. I posted this on a thread Fri night, but with your eloquent, and timely comments I am going to put this out there again. The first comment is from the poster to whom it was originally addressed. I know I am getting here a little late (post 2000 +) so no one will probably read this but I still feel it's important. Thank you for your wise words.
"I voted for him. Put his dam signs all over and boy do I regret it. He's destroying this country."
First, President Bush is not destroying this country. Maybe the illegal aliens are damaging the country. Maybe a lot of people are not stopping this from happening, but the President is not destroying this country.
I am amazed at the people who voted for this President twice, and expected him to change to suit their needs.
This President has not changed his position on this issue, or any other since running for office in '99.
For goodness sake he spoke Spanish at a campaign stop during the first campaign.
President Bush does not govern by polls. He does not wet his finger, hold it in the air, and try to figure out which way the political wind is blowing. The last President did that, and we all said we didn't want another one like that regardless of his stance. At least I did.
I didn't support President Bush in the primaries. I didn't think he was conservative enough, and I didn't like that compassionate needed to be added to conservative to make the great unwashed like him. That being said, since he won the primaries, I have supported him every step of the way.
Do I like, or agree with all the things he has done during his presidency? Hell NO, but he is still my PRESIDENT. Not shrub (this is not aimed at you nmh), not bush (lower case, and without Pres. or Mr in front), not the liar, or the RINO in the White house. He is still the PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES, and deserves the respect accorded to the office.
Also while I don't agree with him on every issue, he is a damn sight better person, leader, everything than the two idiots that opposed him for the office. One of them is a proven traitor who should have been hanged back in the 70's, and never been allowed to run for the office of President.
I dare say all of us who are standing up for the President on these forums want the border secured. I want it secured yesterday. Yes, I think more attention should have been given to the issue since 9-11. But you guys that want to disrespect the Pres. tell me who was the last Pres., or any federal office holder to bring ANY plan for the problem up for discussion. It sure as heck wasn't the last one who was selling our country's security to the Chi-coms, and the Indonesians, and getting hummers to cover it up. By the way, to the poster who had those charts up to show how much better job President Clinton did on deporting illegals, could it possibly be because the law enforcement community has had a little more on their plate since 9-11? Maybe they have been slightly preoccupied with finding young middle eastern men who want to blow us up, and infect us with some God-awful disease, rather than raid construction sites, and landscaping companies.
I don't want them here either, but the realities are if you try and round them up and deport them all, or if you try and cut off services to them, the left in this country, you know the ones we're gonna put in charge this year while we throw our collective temper tantrum, are going to trot out, before the cameras of the drive by media, every sick, hollow cheek dirty faced Mexican child they can find. They are going to file lawsuit, after lawsuit, tying up the actions, not to mention the courts for years to come, all the while scoring the sympathy vote from the 80% of the country who don't read FR. All those Americans who get their news from the Today show, while eating breakfast, saying "look honey, President Bush and the Republicans are starving those people to death. Pass the Corn Flakes." We had a couple of brave Conservatives try to cut off just county services here in Mecklenburg Co. in NC. In 2 hours everyone that supported the issue had been made into Hitler, and Pol Pot rolled into one by the lib politicians, and their willing accomplices in the media. Some are still receiving death threats as a result.
So good luck. I will support any efforts that come down the pipe short of killing, or physically harming. I will stand up and declare that the illegal aliens should not be here, and should not be allowed to come here. I will NOT be disrespectful of my President, allow the Rats to take control of the Congress, or generally throw a giant hissy fit because the solution to a 40 year problem is not served up to us in 6 months. Those of you who do, are making this great forum feel like the DUmp.
Maybe Mexico was able to get all those people across the border in short time, but that was because they WANTED to come HERE!

I still will not count on him because he is a quitter and we need workers.
I will agree that we do need workers, no, fighters. To take out RINO's anywhere they may be found. Lose the RINO's gain a strong conservative party.

UPDATE @ 18:35 - S.Amdt.3965 - Cornyn: To require a guest worker to be sponsored by an employer that has attested that no American will take the job, in order to be eligible for permanent residency, was PASSED on a 50 - 48 vote. Pretty much along party lines.

Parsley on the plate is about the only thing I would eat if steak is involved. The whole factory farm system just grosses me out. It's not like we are cattle farmers, we are the people who eat the stuff that is factory farmed and our health is failing because of it. Besides, don't most meat packing jobs go to the illegals, doing the work Americans will not do?
To: rikkir
Yeah, 2000+ posts is a little ridiculous, but dont think your thoughts wont get read. I try to answer every post addressed to me. Nice post. Bush uses his own moral compass, which scares Democrats and some Conservatives to death.
