Maybe we need to explore a different church where God is and one that is not run by man that abuse boys.

Good points. The "church" has done a lot of good as well as bad throughout history. The "church" should be beyond the sins of man. Unfortunately, it is not.

While I agree that the Catholic Church needs some deep cleaning, I refuse to just brush off a book and movie which try to explain how Jesus is NOT the Messiah.

I'm usually not very socially conservative at all but let's call this book what it is. I'm sick of hearing "It's just a novel." It's not, and anyone who's read it knows that. It presents itself as historically based fiction, and the history on which it's based presents Jesus as just some guy, which is an idea which destroys the foundation of Christianity.

Why would you give up your Faith because of the actions of a few deluded or evil human beings? THEY are not the entire Church, and if you believe that, then you've bought the whole bill of goods created by a media that has hated the Church ever since it began standing firm against Abortion, and has tried to find a way to reduce her credibility on the issues of the practice of homosexuality, and now homosexual 'marriage'.

Too many people made BIG mistakes, but it was nowhere near the entire Church, and it doesn't change the Truth of her teachings.
