BERLIN (Reuters) - The EU's three biggest powers plan to offer Iran a light-water nuclear reactor as part of a package of incentives if Tehran agrees to freeze its uranium enrichment program, EU diplomats said on Tuesday.

"The EU3 and Solana are planning an offer of a European light-water reactor to Iran in return for a suspension of its enrichment program," a European Union diplomat familiar with the negotiations on Iran told Reuters on condition of anonymity.

He said the political directors from the "EU3" -- Britain, France and Germany -- and the office of EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana would discuss the proposed incentives plan with their U.S., Russian and Chinese counterparts in London on Friday.

Didn't J.F. Kerry offer them reactors and nuke tech a year and a half ago and they laughed at him?

Yes, if Iran refuses the deal. No, if they accept it.

if Tehran agrees to freeze its uranium enrichment...

This is a Great Idea! Hopefully, the Iranians will be kind enough to keep the freeze in place, at least until this light weight reactor is delivered, installed, and operational.

Sounds like the fabulously successful North Korea plan advanced by Clintoon. Awesome. This will slow Iran down considerably. -sarcasm off-

I think we should give ex-cons guns, but no bullets. Giving them guns would stop them from wanting bullets.
