[history]
I searched but did not see a thread already open for tonights speech. I think this is the most important speech the President will probably make for the remainder of his term.
Mod Note:
This could turn into a whack-a-troll thread. All immigration trolls that would like to participate should post here. It'll be interesting to see if we mods can whack the trolls faster than they can sign up new accounts.

Yes, I think he's got a very solid response and he is sounding very reasonable. I'm glad he's finally addressing this head-on. He's making a simple problem very complex - most likely on purpose. Just build the wall and then the other ideas can be discussed.

Out of respect for FR and Jim, I have projected strong thoughts for you...You should be receiving them now.

Generally, he couldn't have done this two or three years ago. Even though those states who live along the border have been ready, the interior of the country wasn't ready to hear about illegal immigration.
It's been only, really, in the last three or four months that people have been angry. Of course, we do have citizens that stay perpetually angry...but I'm talking about the average tom, dick, and harry.
Politics is timing... and he isn't late. he isn't early. He's right on time.

>>>>>Still good stuff. Waiting for the BS.Some of this good stuff has been force fed to the President by Bolton, Rove and T.Snow. The most important thing is, Bush supports the McCain-Kennedy bill, aka. "McKennedy". That is amnesty and that is unacceptable.
HR4437 is what Bush needs to sign into law.

Taking middle ground. Many of y'all may not like it but he is doing a good job of communicating this program. "Not amnesty."I can live with this.

Now he is talking to the illegals about learning english and going from picking the vegetables to opening a grocery. He reaches out to lawbreakers to assure them he will make sure they have opportunity and craps on the legal citizens.

The President's poll numbers are freefalling into the 20's as he speaks. Rightfully so. What a disappointment.

I hear Greta is going to be at the San Diego border tonight.
Living in the middle of ground zero here in San Diego,
the Mexicans don't care about our laws let alone new ones.
Having worked in the Gov. legal system for many yrs. I have seen it first hand.

He was doing OK for a while....then he blew it.He should have stopped after the first 7 minutes rather than go on to describe his amnesty plan that isn't amnesty. Geez.
To: Scarchin
He's obviously stupid, and thinks we are too.
