Racism:
The systematic subordination of members of targeted racial groups who have relatively little social power in the United States (Blacks, Latino/as, Native Americans, and Asians), by the members of the agent racial group who have relatively more social power (Whites). The subordination is supported by the actions of individuals, cultural norms and values, and the institutional structures and practices of society.
Individual Racism:
The beliefs, attitudes, and actions of individuals that support or perpetuate racism. Individual racism can occur at both an unconscious and conscious level, and can be both active and passive. Examples include telling a racist joke, using a racial epithet, or believing in the inherent superiority of whites.
Active Racism:
Actions which have as their stated or explicit goal the maintenance of the system of racism and the oppression of those in the targeted racial groups. People who participate in active racism advocate the continued subjugation of members of the targeted groups and protection of “the rights” of members of the agent group. These goals are often supported by a belief in the inferiority of people of color and the superiority of white people, culture, and values.
Passive Racism:
Beliefs, attitudes, and actions that contribute to the maintenance of racism, without openly advocating violence or oppression. The conscious or unconscious maintenance of attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors that support the system of racism, racial prejudice and racial dominance.
Cultural Racism:
Those aspects of society that overtly and covertly attribute value and normality to white people and Whiteness, and devalue, stereotype, and label people of color as “other”, different, less than, or render them invisible. Examples of these norms include defining white skin tones as nude or flesh colored, having a future time orientation, emphasizing individualism as opposed to a more collective ideology, defining one form of English as standard, and identifying only Whites as great writers or composers.
So, they're saying that a black person who use racial epithets or believes in the inherent superiority of blacks is not a racist?

Here's a project. Let's all work off the same template and come up with a "Definition of Elitism" using the same subtitles. Then e-mail it to the faculty in the name of inclusiveness.

My wife and I successfully were able to bring the egregiously leftist political propaganda mingled with pagan mysticism to the attention of the Principal and the school's Director. It was a short time before the pseudo-science book was pulled from the classroom. We've received indicators that the "science" teacher will not be allowed to return next year and will be replaced.
Get your facts together, present it well, and don't take no for an answer. You can take this curriculum down and down hard. Be ready to involved like-minded people in your community, if needed, along with parents of the other students in the school. Be prepared to go the press and especially use the Internet to your advantage.

The following passage is directed at white "culture," however, it comes under the heading, "Active Racism":

By these standards, belief in the superiority of these supposedly "white" cultural values is racist. I trust this school district does not aspire for its students to practice those cultural values of, say, white trash, or the black ghetto, or whomever, that denigrate the foundations for personal and financial advance in our society -- such as getting good grades, respect for authority, and using correct English?
The mixing of culture and race is the downfall of the victim industry. In fixing race to culture they cannot accept value distinctions between cultures. For them, race and culture are one in the same. If we can ever separate the two, we will get beyond the color of skin as a determinant of culture. And if we can get beyond that, we will have finally gotten past the perpetuation of inferior cultural traits according to race.
Macaw, I'm sorry that you have kids in that school district. I've sent your link in an email to John Carlson, Bryan Suits and Michael Savage. I figure one of them has to bite. I have never seen such an egregious example of institutionalized bigotry in my life. Political Correctness is giving old-fashioned racism a run for its money.
