BOSTON --A plane carrying U.S Sen. Edward M. Kennedy from a commencement speech in western Massachusetts to his Cape Cod home on Saturday was struck by lightning and had to be diverted to New Haven, Conn., a Kennedy spokeswoman said.
The plane lost all electrical power and the pilot had to fly the plane manually, according to Melissa Wagoner, Kennedy's press secretary. No one was hurt.
The Massachusetts Democrat had just delivered the commencement address at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams and was on his way to Hyannis to spend Mother's Day with family when the plane was struck at about 2:45 p.m., she said.
Kennedy planned to stay in Connecticut overnight because he is scheduled to deliver another commencement address at Springfield College on Sunday, she said.

Oh please, if it were divine intervention, it would have happened many, many years ago and it wouldn't have been a warning shot. Agreed. If this was the real deal, it would've happened on the ground at a golf course!

I think old Satan is sending a hot flash to Murdering Teddy Boy Kennedy.
One thing for sure, the Kennedy clan will not have to embalm old Murdering Ted when he croaks.
With all the alcohol he has in him they will just flop the sorry sack of feces in a hole and cover him up.

LOL! but if they decide to cremate him, all they need to is strike a match. Won't be any ashes left though, just a stench of burned sh*t.

Gee, the plane gets struck by lightning before three and the story doesn't run for over 6 hours. Do you suppose the guy from Hyannis pooped his pants and needed 6 hours of cleaning up?Yeah, they're hiding something. David "the punk" Gregory had better get up to Hyannis Port doublequick and find out just why this was covered up. Where is the transparency, Senator? What happened during those six hours of blackout?

The article did say that it was reported to the FAA. In a few weeks, let's check the NTSB website for the preliminary incident report. The N- number is always listed.
You should be able to see a preliminary incident report on the FAA's website
here within a day or so. The FAA has already posted May 12's reported incidents there.
As I've said in a few other posts, I'm fairly certain the tail number was N505RP, and the flight path can be seen on FlightAware
here. Lightning strike near Martha's Vineyard.

I don't know and I will bet he doesn't remember!!

Planes are struck by lightning all the time. Flying metal objects hurling through the atmosphere tend to attract that kind of stuff.
To: TigersEye
The delay in reporting was to give Ted time to unload the strippers, hookers, and fifty cases of bourbon from the plane before the FAA investigators arrived.
Also, the plane may have been smuggling illegal aliens who were scheduled to work as gardeners, maids, and horse groomers at the Kennedy compound.

The Kennedys should just stay out of moving vehicles - for their own safety and everyone's around them. Not to mention staying off the slopes and staying out of hotel kitchens.
Lessee...
Joe Kennedy Jr. dies in WWII (shot down, I think).
John escapes PT109.
John assassinated while in a car.
Teddy breaks his back in an airplane crash.
Bobby assassinated in a hotel kitchen.
Teddy kills a woman in a car at Chappaquiddick.
One of the next generation dies in a skiing accident.
John Jr. dies piloting his own plane.
Patches has a car wreck at the Capitol while inebriated.
Teedy's plane struck by lightning.
How many more people will be injured or killed because the Kennedys refuse to give up travel?

Give god a break, he did his best. I bet everone on the plane was drunk as a skunk and the plane was swerving so bad that no one could hit it.
