As a seasoned political observer with more than two decades of experience analyzing voting patterns and the like, I would now like to explain to you one of the greatest mysteries in the history of balloting - a mystery so profound that people have sobbed and scratched their heads, gasped and cried out in anger, and insisted they would never again participate in the voting process.
Am I talking about the Florida election in 2000? The 1984 controversy over the victor in the race for Indiana's Eighth Congressional District? The race for president in 1876?
No, I'm talking about the elimination on Wednesday night of rocker Chris Daughtry from the list of contenders for the title of "American Idol."...
How could this happen?...
If you want to understand "Idol," you need to understand American politics. And if you want to understand the workings of American politics, "Idol" isn't a bad introduction to the way political coalitions are formed and elections are won....

"So I guess right now, I am going to hope Elliott wins. I find it awful that people make fun of him for his looks...bad teeth and looks like a troll. "
I like his looks myself. If he were to fix his teeth now, wouldnt' capping or bonding the teeth affect his voice? SOunds silly but I would leave well enough alone until after the Tour.
Taylor was smart to sing "In the Ghetto". That should help him with black voters, inasmuch that there are no black singers in the competition left.
Was that a deliberate move by Taylor?

Interesting. I never even thought that. Actually I think he should just be himself. Who cares if his teeth are bad. I think it was just folks who were hoping other people won.
"Taylor has a beautiful voice, but you're right, there's something weird and spastic about him. What's with this jerking around and going "Wooooo!" all the time? "
That's called "feeling the music".. the kid's got heart... the music is more than just sound to him, and you can tell he's been doing it all his life.. or most of it.
I thought Chris was good and really expected him to be in the top 2, but since he's not I'm jumping on the Taylor wagon and not gettin' off until it crashes. :P
Thanks,
Me tooo! I'm tired of hearing about the stupid reality shows. I thiink the reality shows ought to be voted off!
My husband said that it would, although I don't get it either. I think maybe tongue placement or whatever ... if the inside of your mouth feels different, would that affec the singing...okay I'm rambling :)
Taylor Hicks Taylor Hicks Taylor Hicks.
He is likeable, something MSM needs to get a grasp on.
Gosh, I haven't any idea. I never thought as him as pandering to blacks. I just like his happiness and Elliotts soulfulness.
To make amends, Taylor needs to sing "I wish I was in Dixie" as part of the medly section of American Idol.
It's all such a sham, I can't bear to watch that idiotic show. What a waste of time! I find it hard to believe that Americans are lead to watch such drivel when there's a war on, but the low IQ of most Americans may clarify their interest in shows like this one.
Taylor Hicks is a better singer but not terribly versatile.
Katherine McPhee has an excellent voice, is very versatile and, well, is just the complete package.
Those shows aren't at all similar. Survivor is watching a bunch of people do stunts in miserable conditions for prizes, AI is watching people sing and dance for prizes, and Desperate Housewives is a primetime soap opera.
The Idols aren't allowed to sing at events. They are under contract to perform only for the AI-tent until the term is over. Kellie Pickler did anyway and will probably have to pay a fine.

Yep, we all need to make sure we have a serious look on our face, and a news source in front of us 24/7 to either praise or complain about. Nobody should have any entertainment when they get sick of all the politcs.. NO HAVING FUN!
If you want to understand "Idol" you merely have to count.

That's just crazy talk. Seriesly.
I suggest you see an eye doctor pronto.
You're not much of a boob connoisseur like I am. Those are all natural funbags.
