Does AOL Hate President Bush Or What?
Sweetness & Light ^ | May 11, 2006 | N/A

Posted on 05/11/2006 12:58:24 PM PDT by Sam Hill

If I didn't know better, I'd almost think Time Warner's America Online does not like our twice-elected President, and that they want him to fail and the US to lose the war in Iraq.

But undoubtedly I'm imagining things.

And just to show it isn't personal, AOL also gives us front pages like this:

Maybe they think it's good for business:

Chart

Then again, maybe they'd rather push their agenda than make money.

Why, on earth, would ANYBODY use or look at AOL.

I admit, 15 years ago, it was the best thing in town, but now it is the ISP for IDIOTS.

There was bound to be a backlash on W because he was such a positive focal point for so long in these forums. In 10 years everyone will be moaning about the current Republican President and that he isn't as good as Bush.

No worries - we here agree on more than we disagree - it just more fun to mix it up sometimes

EVERYBODY hates Bush except for me and three other posters here on FR.

There are more of us, but the hate here is almost as bad as the DUmp, so why bother posting?

"good president"

I agree. I can't believe all the Bush bashers think a Dem would have done what Bush has done: taken the fight to the terrorists, cut taxes, appointed conservatives to the S.C. and federal courts, pushed for s.s. reform, and espoused a moral way of living while championing free enterprise. I'm a strong Bush backer who strongly disagrees with him on the border issue and spending. But the good Bush has done far outweighs his negatives. The hysteribots on this forum would like us to believe that Bush hasn't done anything positive at all. That is just totally ridiculous.

Don't forget that on election night, CNN and Netscape labeled the picture of Laura and George Bush as "moron" and "@$$hole". There are still some screen shots on this thread. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1269931/posts

>>Both you and Sam Hill are really two of the very best freepers going, and I have enjoyed reading what you guys have to say, and I particularly like the way you both make your points with some real valor and zeal. You both are really good at this stuff and I wish you would find a way to live and let live. The tongue-in-cheek comments you make to one another would be better served up to some dumbassed democrat-don't you agree? After all, they deserve it and you two don't!<<

I appreciate your post. Sam is apparently one of the most senior Freepers here so I try to defer to him but sometimes his behavior is grating to me. But your point about internal dissension is well taken and well spoken and I will try to do better.

Make that 4. But you are right. These look exactly like the breathless headlines met with approval here on FR.

And we wonder why we can't get anywhere. To their credit, although the majority of Dems did not consider President Clinton sufficiently liberal, when times got tough, they backed the guy up.

This President has done much less wrong but may not be as conservative as some would like...so we abandon him.

We should be better than that. Not to mention smarter.

There's nothing more dangerous than a fresh out of college liberal webmaster.

That may be true...but it looks like nearly 22% from the front page poll.

You got it! I just get so furious at all of the ugly photos and always pick out the most negative subjects to ask questions of their subscribers. If I could stand using my sbcglobal instead and be satisfied, I would. Unfortunately, aol is much more friendly and I love my instant message system. Thanks for noticing...you're not the only one either. Just think, all the bad and he still won 2 elections...huuummm...guess it doesn't work on those of us with some brains. They need to stick with the mtv crowd and AirheadAmerica!

Amazon does the same crap. Everytime I go there they are pushing some uber liberal down my throat. I always have to check "not interested". They like to censor comments you make about their little pets too.

I think they do too. I saw that headline today "Bush denies breaking law" and just flipped.

Absolutely & without a doubt AOL's newspage editors have a pronounced anti-Bush agenda. It's as brazen as day & it's all aolians talk about. I am embarassed to say I am a TW shareholder and have recently contacted shareholders' services about this. What other company deliberately alienates its own paying customers in such an egregiously obvious way on a regular basis and expects to keep their base, let alone grow it? The spectacular managerial incompetence and executive stupidity required for AOL managers to allow these third-tier staffers to sabotage corporate profits this way with total impunity boggles the effin mind. It's got to be the most ineptly run company in America. I gotta switch funds.

If your email ends in "aol.com" you've got email problems. What I did is I bought a domain that is my name. That way it is impossible for people to forget it (unless of course they forget how to spell my name).

Lots of Viet Nam Vets connected to AOL before it was Hijacked.
Very Patriotic tone the entire time they were trying to build a "community"
Do you think Parsons would ever appoint a Colin Powell or an Alexander Haig to Time Warner's board?
All the good people have been replaced with Time Warner Shills.

To be fair, if Case had won, CNN would have been sold years ago, Parsons would have been transferred to the Sports Illustrated bathing suit division for keeping his mouth shut while Turner's slush fund toys like the Atlanta Braves and the TW jet fleet were sold off. Heads would have rolled at Time magazine and the Warner music labels. Dumping Madonna would have saved the shareholders millions and Oliver Stone would never, I say again, never get a chance to work on any AOLTW projects.

You've Got Mail, Band Of Brothers, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings were all projects that were started when Case came on the scene.

Now, Parsons sits in his 50 million dollar office over looking Central Park and green lights the most despicable crap one can imagine. He rules an empire devoted to invalidation. The complete opposite of the "Community" vision Steve had.

AOL's blatant liberal bias is one of the reasons I cancelled my AOL service.
