If I didn't know better, I'd almost think Time Warner's America Online does not like our twice-elected President, and that they want him to fail and the US to lose the war in Iraq.
But undoubtedly I'm imagining things.
And just to show it isn't personal, AOL also gives us front pages like this:
Maybe they think it's good for business:
Then again, maybe they'd rather push their agenda than make money.
"I hope you included my husband, my son and me 'cause we love George Bush and pray for him every day."
So do my wife and I.
Or that. (But I still chuckle at that one)
Turner resigned as Vice Chairman of AOL/TW January 29, 2003, after helping the company lose $99 billion (with a B) dollar.
Just a couple of months ago, on February 24, 2006, he annouced that he would not seek re-election as director on the AOL Time Warner board of directors. I wonder why?
BTW, he's not a drunk. He has "bi-polar" disorder. -- Just like Patrick Kennedy.
LOL
>>Sorry that I pointed out that you hadn't bothered to read the article.
But I have to admit I never read your posts if I see your name first.<<
Whereas I find you to be a smart guy with some good things to say but lacking in manners and thus much of your point is lost.
AOL just announced they are laying off at least 1000 people, maybe more, so they must be doing a booming business. Hope they crash and burn.........
IT IS CLEARY EVIDENT THAT AOL HAS A AGENDA.
IF ANY ASTUTE FREEPER KNOWS HOW I CAN KEEP MY MAILING ADDRESS AND DUMP AOL,PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
Yes it happened. And to the best of my knowledge...the MSM pretty much ignored it.
FWIW-
AOL died from stab wounds to the back years ago.
Dick Parsons hi jacked Steve's Case's vision of a community with the usual gang of extreme left wing Time Warner Bush haters. Don't worry though, they are losing a couple of hundred thousand subscribers every 12 weeks.
AOL = vvsn.exe
How dare you make any sense, you bush bot! ;)

Yep. Frontpage Magazine (and others) covered it:
FrontPage magazine.com :: Slay the AOL Monster by Robert Locke
AOL reads its users' e-mails and censors them. Last year, it blocked the conservative e-mail journal The Federalist for several weeks. As of this writing, AOL has confirmed that they blocked it, but has refused to say why. The Federalist's publisher suspects it may have something to do with the fact that on March 9th, 2001, they quoted Ted Turner's comment to a group of CNN personnel observing Ash Wednesday with an ash mark on their foreheads: "What are you, a bunch of Jesus freaks?" AOL later lifted the blockade, but should conservatives, or any liberty-loving Americans, be doing business with a company that behaves this way in the first place?

LOL
I did this years ago. Cancelled the service, they lowered my rate. Then I cancelled again and they let me keep the email address for around 5 bucks a month, which let me check it via the web only. After I switched to broadband, I dumped them altogether.

You're exactly right. In fact, (and I probably shouldn't mention this, because it will hurt his reputation forever), but I happen to know that Steve Case corresponded with a very well-known conservative a few years ago. And he was quite friendly, even admitting to be a fan.
I doubt if that is true of anyone at AOL these days.
Both you and Sam Hill are really two of the very best freepers going, and I have enjoyed reading what you guys have to say, and I particularly like the way you both make your points with some real valor and zeal. You both are really good at this stuff and I wish you would find a way to live and let live. The tongue-in-cheek comments you make to one another would be better served up to some dumbassed democrat-don't you agree? After all, they deserve it and you two don't!
Amen.
Yes...that was it.
Can you imagine if the tables were reversed what a Drive-By-Media hailstorm there would have been?
