At least he's talking to us now. That's a good sign.

Yes it is thank God. Maybe now that Tony Snow is in there, he will pass along to the president it's not about the war or gas. One can hope.

Mr. President, you're starting to sound like your father.

You can't "address" a problem if you won't even publicly recognize what's really causing it.

Here's a hint: "La frontera, la frontera, la frontera."

Yea, illegal immigration is not bothering anyone. There is no need for him to address that. /sarcasm off

Good heavens. Is the Pres. insulated from the truth, or just ignoring it?

I don't know too many people who are ticked off at him about the war or fuel prices, but I know plenty who are ticked off at him about illegals, big government and insane federal spending for pork.

Curious that he never mentions the outrage over illegal immigration.
Or, his botched handling of Hurricane Katrina.
Or, the Harriet Miers fiasco.
Or, the Dubai ports deal.
Or, etc., etc..

Gee, for a minute I thought I had logged onto DemocraticUnderground or MoveOn.

PS - I am not a "Bushbot" - I didn't even want him to get the nomination in 2000. However, the way he handled 9/11 and the War on Terror made be look at him in a whole new light.

I don't like his non-action on the borders - but I much prefer his non-action to the potential Democrats action.

I shudder to think how the DNC would handle the Iranian nuclear situation.

You'd think a recovering alcoholic would understand denial (and that ain't a river in Egypt).

And you'd think a guy who could choose any moniker for posting on FR would choose something other than the last name of a murderer.

You never get thanks for trying to help the ungratefuls out though.

That's precisely my point ... Bush botched Katrina by underestimating the damage that would occur from a category 5 hurricane ... although he was briefed. Bush instead of staying at the ranch in Crawford should have had his butt on AF1 winging back to Washington in the hours immediately before the storm or, at the very least, flown up to NORAD in Colo. Springs to monitor developments ... after all Katrina was headed for 'Rat state. Instead the storm hits, he gets on AF1 and flies out to a Pubbie fund raiser in San Diego ... talk about clueless.

To me, it's (a) illegal immigrants and (b) uncontrolled spending, (c) abysmal pubic relations efforts against opponents of the war on Islamic terror.

Precisely. Those Bush haters who opposed the war from day one will always oppose the war. While some "fatigue" may set in, conservatives will support the WOT and the CIC's mission to win the war in Iraq until our dying day. His poll numbers have little to do with Iraq and much more to do with what you have listed above.

I don't know anybody who voted for John Kerry, but 59 million Americans did.

Illegal immigration might not be as high a priority here, where I'm surrounded by Hispanic democrats and I can tell you, they support the war and the troops. Gas , we all grumble about but how can you control the price of what someone is selling? We don't have a cold winter coming up to worry about though.
I believe there are people (even here on FR) that, like the situation our President is in and don't want him to "fix things". I'm not one of them. As the poster above mentioned, once he starts discussing our concerns and lays out a good plan, a lot will rally around him again.

<59> million Americans did.

You sure about that? I wouldn't bet the ranch. Finding them may be like finding NO cops.

Sounds more like Jimmy Carter and his 'malaise' than sunny Ronald Reagan.

I don't know how you stand on other issues but to make that remark is uncalled for.

I wish I could agree that Bush is simply a moron on immigration.. but thats not so.. He knows more than you or I do about it.. Its ON PURPOSE.. Multi millions of illegal and legal alien(democrats) insurgents is ON PURPOSE...

Bush is RE-vitalizing the democrat party ON PURPOSE...
What do you call that.. TREASON?.. NAH!.. there is another word, and that word is Turn-Coat.. While all eyes are on Iraq, Bush is dismantling headquarters.. Changeing the voting demographics in the U.S. for the future(and maybe the present).. ON PURPOSE...

It is no accident or geo-political game.. its serious business... ON PURPOSE..
Bush is globalist.. Considering what a globalist could gain by a huge influx of people into the political process that could care less about borders.. is obvious..

I thought Bush didn't look at the polls.

He looks at them, but he doesn't decide his stance on issues based on them. I often think that's a good thing. However, I wish he'd pay a bit closer to the polls on his illegal immigration policy.
