Could Kerry have done any worse? I doubt it.

At this point I agree with you. With a democrat in office, the GOP senators would have acted like conservatives again and put severe restraints on Kerry.

Gridlock is often our friend. Opposing parties in the Legislative and Executive branches prevent either party getting out of line.

As I saw it, we had two choices in '04:

Either we handed our collective arses to the UN, or to Mexico.

We chose the latter.

I absolutely agree with you. Bush has been a big disappointment. He's abandoned the conservative agenda and cannot rally members of his own party. The Republican Party controls both Houses of Congress and the Presidency for the first time in how many years. What an opportunity missed!!! I am convinced that there is absolutely no effective leadership in Washington, Democrat or Republican.
