...A plan for the administration? Free advice is worth the price, but here goes:
[snip]
Issue 1: Iraq, Afghanistan and the age of terror. On these, stabilize, fortify, succeed. Keep America safe. ...Find Osama--it is a scandal that the man who started the new era is still free, still taunting the West, still inspiring those who see the world as he does. It was a mistake to think finding him was not as important as a wider war on terror. Finding him is key. It is almost five years since he did what he did. Get him, try him, kill him.

PEGGY NOONAN, YOU'RE TALKING COMMON SENSE. OSAMA STARTED THIS WAR - OSAMA DID 9-11. OSAMA KILLED THE BRAVE PASSENGERS OF FLIGHT 93. BUT NOBODY TALKS ABOUT HIM ANYMORE. IF BUSH CAUGHT OSAMA, BUSH'S POLLS WOULD REBOUND INSTANTLY AND PELOSI WOULD HAVE TO STOP TALKING ABOUT WHAT THE DEMS WILL DO WHEN THEY CAPTURE THE HOUSE.
"Find Osama ... Get him, try him, kill him." AMEN.

"it is a scandal that the man who started the new era is still free, still taunting the West, still inspiring those who see the world as he does"
Well and truly said.

I assume Peggy thinks that all of those troops in Afghanistan are lounging around at their bases, and if only they would get off their rears they could find OBL.
This proves how pointless her columns are, and why I won't even click on this to read it.
Plus, if YOU think it's a good column, I know I don't want to raise my BP by reading it.

Actually I think that border security is going to be the chart topper in the next election. Let's see who is for guest voters and who is not. The public doesn't want the country overrun with Mexicans.
Finding bin Laden or Zarqawi, well that would be nice, but likely would change little. The terrorists are an ideology, not a person.

Didn't you hear? They already have Osama.
They're planning on revealing that to everyone in October right before the 2004 elections.
Oops, I mean the 2006 mid-term elections.
Yeah, that's the ticket.

finding OSama is fine, but it wont end the war.
American make the mistake of personalizing our middle east enemies rather than the idealogy...Khomanie, Osama etc...the problem is an idealogy
I think that the majority of americans think if we cathc Osama, all is fine and dandy and we can go back to 9-10-2001.

Back up all action with illustration and explanation. Inform the public--constantly--as to what is happening Great point. This administration has been terrible at pointing out the many successes in the WOT. The fact is bloggers have had to fill in the void and try to educate the public about what is going on.
I hope Tony Snow sees this as a priority. Why not start each press conference by saying "12 new schools opened in Afghanistan this week" or "145 terrorists were killed/apprehended in Iraq this week"?

Why would our troops in Afghanistan be looking for OBL? Hes obviously not in Afghanistan anymore. He's probably in Pakistan.
Don't try to twist legitimate criticism of the president into an attack on our troops.

Good except regarding Bin Laden. "Get him, Try him, Kill him).
Leave out the "Try him", just kill him.

I realized today that dems don't vote during mid term elections. They're to stupid and lazy. They have a hard enough time voting during presidential elections. If we show up and vote we win.

Who cares about that. Bush should give a real speech about the actually capabilities the Iraqi Insurgency and Al Qaida have. Then say what we are doing about it. All we get from the media is stupid useless information about attacks and poorly named Operations that seemingly have no affect. Give us some real info on how the WOT is going.

10 of our great soldiers went down in a helicopter crash in the mountains of Afghanistan. Just what do you think is the mission of "Operation Mountain Lion" ?
Let us pray that the mission is accomplished and give thanks to these brave soldiers and their families.
BTW, the son of a good friend is serving with Operation Mountain Lion.

Oh, for goodness sake. Do you think we AREN'T looking for him in Pakistan, and leaning on Musharrif to do it as well? We have rewards out, people combing those mountains, drone spy planes, Special Forces, etc. etc.
Peggy Noonan apparently thinks Preisdent Bush can't find Osama because he isn't really trying.
It is a ridiculous assumption, and YOUR spin isn't going to change my mind.

FoxNews poll showed the no. 1 concern is the economy, I forgot the no. 2, Iraq was no 3, and illegal immigration was no.4.
But at the same time, people aren't giving President Bush credit for the great economy.

We are leaning on Musharrif but this falls into the same stupid strategy we used in Afghanistan. Use foreign soldiers as mercenaries to do what our soldiers do better. If we had just used 30 thousands marines in Afghanistan we would have caught OBL in Tora Bora.
If I were Bush I'd notify Special Ops teams are going to cross into his territory and that he wasn't going to stop us. I don't think they are currently. There is no reason our military can't find Bin Laden.
