"This is the ritual "I can't stand Kristol" comment. He just said that Porter Goss was fired. I ask how does Kristol know this?"
Kristol doesn't know squat. He places a lot more importance on himself and his knowledge than most others do.
I question whether the Pres would have sat in the oval office w Goss and said "he led ably", etc. and Goss said something like 'thank you for the trust you placed in me' if he had actually had been fired. I don't recall an oval office event like that happening when Paul O'Neill (former Sect'y of Treas) was asked to step down.
I agree with you completely about Kristol and it was his comments TODAY that convinced me. This man is a know-nothing who wishes to hell he knew something.
Way I figure, Kristol is an advisor for the shadow government, keeps them updated on all things Republican. Then he carries their water back as talking points on the talk shows.
This way, Kristol becomes somebody from being a nobody.
Insert wink here.
You are correct all that was done was that a statement was put out.

I dont know. He gave the previous occupant of the CIA leadership, Tenant, the highest medal awarded to civilians in this country and that was after 911 and the faulty intelligence on WMD.
Apparently, the "accepted wisdom" for Goss is that he was fired. I have heard snippets of all the Sunday shows, and they all seem to be saying the same thing. Media folks do not care a bit about truth, and reality is in the mind of the beholder in DC.
