"One has to be careful using long words like "tort." "

Is that a naughty word? Go tort yourself? Tort you?

Pelosi: "No defict spending...pay as you go." There is no way that is going to happen and she knows it. Pandering to the Rep vote. Of course, she won't say that raising taxes is off the table.

Seems old Billy boy must be advising them. This is the Bill Clinton 1992 "Middle Class Tax Cut" pledge all over again.

I am forever reminding people when they say "the government......" that "we" are the "government"

And I am always reminding people how naive they are!

And every time I hear it, I am reminded how idiotic is the Whine all the Time Choir with their perpetual "Just surrender without a fight cause we are doomed" dogma and their rabid paraonoia about "evil Goverment forces".

We ARE the Govt whenwe are willing to fight instead of sit on our butts and whine undlessly.

You are assuming that the problem is with the voters - it is not. Congress has so rigged the system that it is virtually impossible for an incumbent to be replaced through the primary system.

Utter rot as usual Al. Wondered when you would show up since it is an election year. So which Democrat outfit do you work for this time? Moveon? Howie Dean? Act up? Sorry we are not fooled by the Democrat "virtual campaiger" strategy here. You are activly working to elect Democrats. Either you are a political idiot or a fraud. Which is it?

I think that is the most ignorant post I have seen today. Medicare is a bigger disaster than Social Security and its impact will be felt much sooner. Do some research - look at how Medicare is funded - look at the costs, both direct and indirect.

Source to back up this clam DNC Al? Since you "Did the research" post it instead of posting yet another ignorant personal attacks at other posters.

You can quit wasting our Time DNC Al. No one is fooled by this "betrayed Conservative" game you MOveon.org activists try every election year. Your rhetoric and actions show you have NEVER been on our side of the political aisle.

How about for a change you all come out of the closet and actually tell the truth rather then lie to us about your real political allegiances. All this pseudos Conservative bluster does is make us Freepers laugh at you people. We might take you seriously if you people seriously argued for a your views honestly instead of looking for the next fraudulent tactic to use. If you have to lie about what you really believe, you have all ready LOST the argument.

And that is the whole problem - take from one and give to another is great politics but a poor way to run a country. Socialism always ends up the same - a bankrupt government and a crushed econom

Nice you have opinions, too bad that is all they are. You are a typical DNC mouthpiece. YOUR feelings are not facts. The Country of Great Britain has managed it National Debt since the 1600s. This "the fiscal sky is falling" screaming by the pseudo Conservatives in the mistaken belief it validates their phoney "Conservative" credentials is utter nonsense as anyone who has a higher then elementary school level understanding of Economics can tell you.

Total Debt is a complete red herring nonsensical claim by the Fiscal Chicken Littles. While a $100,000 debt would seem the end of the world to most people, it is a nothing to people like Bill Gates. What you need to watch in the Government Deficit is the Debt to GDP ratio. You fools have been screaming this nonsense about the Debt since the 1970s. Funny how the year of the great Fiscal disaster you Chicken Littles claim always keeps moving back. We managed up to the mid 1990s on an average 6% Deficit. It currently runs under 3%. You economic wailing and hair pulling is utter nonsense DNC Al.

It's called a Zero Sum Fallacy Al. All your "projections" and "data" are based on the current economic structure. The reason your foolish Chicken Little's doom and gloom pronouncements never actually REACH reality is because the economic pie GROWES. It is NOT a fixed number as all your nonsencial data assumes.

If they wanted an amnesty-free immigration bill, they could draft one and pass one

No they cannot. There is a stupid thing in the Senate rules called a "Filibuster" ever heard of it? Democrats used it to block adding the Enforcement measures from the US House Republican bill to the Senate's bill.

Try actually READING a few of the posts to you and learning the facts of the matter instead of just posting your ignorant rants. Your posts on Immigration here on this thread demonstrate a painful ignorance of political and factual reality.

Wages are not raising as fast as gas prices and healthcare costs.

A highly misleading factoid. Your source for this erronous bit of data? Another one of those statistic lies the opposition like to throw out. Technically correct totally meaningless in reality. Comparing the % change in Average wages to the overall increase in health care costs or gas prices is an irrelevant comparison. A more honest comparison would be the % change in health care costs and energy prices as a % of average family income. The change is fiscally insignificant. It may be painful to some individuals who have gone thru a crises or a change but it's over all impact on the economic health of the average citizen is not significant. Life is painful. The idea that everyone everywhere can get thru life with no bad breaks is utter nonsense. You want the massive improvements we have seen in Health Care technology over the last decade, you have to pay for them MOST people understand that instead of whining endlessly about "rising health care costs". If you want a Yugo caliber health care system, sign up for a Yugo priced and quality level health care plan. Screaming for a Limousines level Health Care system at a Yugo level price is childish.

You get what you pay for, there are NO free lunches in Economics.

Democrats used it to block adding the Enforcement measures from the US House Republican bill to the Senate's bill.

No, you're wrong. They used the *threat* of a filibuster to block enforcement measures.

The Republican majority has not once, not for one single issue in 5 years, called the Rats on their bluff to filibuster.

You seem to believe that the filibuster is something that works solely in favor of Rat obstructionists. That's wrong.

If Rat Senators were to filibuster for days or weeks over an issue the American public overwhelmingly disapproves of (amnesty for illegals), they would find themselves in deep trouble this November.

*That* is the "political and factual reality."

Every Democrat Senator voted for the bill and voted to block putting the Enforcement measures in the the Senate bill from the US House Republican bill.

So what? They are a minority. Their threats to run a filibuster *supporting amenesty for illegal aliens" should be encouraged by the Republicans. The filibuster doesn't give Rats an automatic win on this issue, it gives them an opportunity to look like traitors and fools in the eyes of the American public.

Let them run one for a week or a month. Americans do not agree with them by a 60 to 70 percent majority.

So your upset about the Illegals so your solution is to sit out the election in Nov

Actually I'm upset that the Repubublican majority doesn't have the cajones or the will to fight the Rats in the manner required.

We ARE the Govt when we are willing to fight instead of sit on our butts and whine undlessly

That was my point exactly, thank you

So many do nothing but complain while sitting behind their computers in the comfort of their homes yet do nothing in the fight

But even so its my DUTY as an American citizen to ACTIVELY fight for the Constitution and the principals it stands for

Because its MY COUNTRY And I LOVE AMERICA

And I would rather go down fighting than to give up to apathy

Johnnie, I just checked again. It's up to 20%!!!! And 13.6%, or 326 of Free Republic MEMBERS want to see the Rats win.

PATHETIC!

You know, I've been encouraging people to strongly support conservatives in the Republican primaries in order to see a Republican party that reflects their values, rather than abandon the party or not vote. Well, the primaries are upon us, but all I see is RINOs and incumbents winning (DeWine from Ohio, for example). So what does this say about the clout of the Buchanan Brigaders? Or do they even get off their lazy a$$es and get off the computer to go vote?

HELLO! Bush bashers? Are you voting in your primaries, or are you just big talkers?
