Look, most every area has it's risks. Pick yours and deal with it. How did we ever survive and thrive without federal assistance, or didn't disasters occur here before FEMA was born?
So you think that what ever SCOTUS decides is right? Do you know that they have reversed themselves over 125 times in just the last 50 years? I guess things aren't as final as you seem to think.
Anyone with brains and common sense can read that document and see what is constitutional without relying on lawyers or black robed priests. They are just men and many have agendas that do not include any fidelity to the Constitution or to the ideas that made America great.
Charity is fine. Helping your neighbor is your Christian duty and mine. Socialism and preemptive coercion are not the American way and I will support neither.
As for your jumping to faulty conclusions, I am a Christian conservative registered as a Republican who loves liberty and has a deep abiding belief in limited government as laid out in our Constitution. Government cannot -- legitimately -- do what anything it wants to because it feels good (that's so 60ish) even if the Supremes go along.
Do you think the Income Tax and the IRS are good American institutions? I guess that you do since it appears that you see emanations from penumbras when it suits your needs.
