What do you think about Jack Straw being "demoted"??

He was pretty chummy with Sec. Condi Rice, so this must be disappointing to her, also.

As much as he has a very left wing background so not my cup of tea he handled himself well internationally.

Several theories are being put forward.

1) Too chummy with Gordon Brown

2) Went out on a limb on foreign policy not always following government line eg categorically stating there would be no military action against Iran. The PM has never ruled this out.

3) Friendship with Condi Rice including taking her to his home town constituency. Did not go down well with local labour party activists.
