Modela, which makes Corona, is 50% owned by BUD. Is it still considered a mexican beer? Isn't the other half owned by the Mexican wife of the American Ambassador to Mexico?
Does the fact that the American Ambassador is married to one of the richest women in the country where he is supposed to be representing OUR interests seem like an unacceptable conflict of interest to anybody else besides me?

If Modela is based in Mexico it cannot be 50% owned by BUD. Mexican law prohibits their companies to be more than 49% foreign owned, a fine point usually missed by journalists who "report" on such things.
IOW, Modela is a Mexican company with a large US investor.
