Are you familiar with the FreeRepublic Saddle Club? Join us if you want, and we love pictures.

Pinging Delmont for after his return from the Gulf, where he's spending a volunteer week doing some church demolition and repair work....he's quite the horsie guy.

My cousin runs a landscape business down in San Diego county. She hires legals, but they all took the day off 'to stand with their illegal brothers.' Be sure to not punish her. I think there's a lot more of this that happened.

This is the one I was thinking about. If it doesn't serve your needs, then keep this one running too. Just thought if it was all in one place, it'll come in handy in the future....May 1 closures: who to boycott? Rallies (Live thread)

None of those cooks left work yesterday. I was wondering if they would. If they did, I'd be boycotting that business as well.

I making a list of the local businesses that were closed and they have all seen the last red cent from my pockets.

I don't know any. Even the lawn services in this area were working.

Next time, let's have "mow your own lawn day".

In Minneapolis, a number of Hispanic-owned stores on E. Lake Street were closed.

In west St Paul (which is a heavily Hispanic area just south of downtown) many businesses were closed too.

I didn't eat fast food yesterday - so I can't tell you if the local McDonalds, etc. were short-staffed or not.

I'm thinking these protesters are mostly unemployed adults and school children to begin with, no body seems to have missed them.

Add Perdue to the list. They closed several plants too. I hope my supermarkets stock something other than Tyson and Perdue.

Several people on talk radio this morning said that they are going to boycott the establishments that were closed yesterday for 30 days and are stopping by or calling those establishments this morning just to let them know why they are doing it. That's the way to go!

We have a drive-thru convenience store right next door to my office, but I drive 5 miles out of my way each day to patronize another store, as the drive-thru store has young girls in bikinis out in front of the store every day waving a Mexican flag. Not only are they supporting the illegal immigrants, but I feel they are exploiting those young girls. My co-workers feel the same as I do about it and boycott it as well.

What-A-Burger policy is you can have time off IF you make arrangements ahead of time.

That is pretty much the case in any other business. Maybe it is not the case in Mexico. :)

My local McDonalds advertises itself as the "American motorcycle" McDonalds, complete with old Harleys and Indians on display in the windows.

However nothing but Spanish is spoken in the kitchen and they have one or two good English speakers to take orders.

If I was your cousin there would be an ad in todays paper looking for new help, cause those that chose to demonstrate would be out on their ear. They were hired for a job and its like a contract 8-5 5days a week.
