Sounds like it could also be a possible gallstone attack, which is unrelated to kidney stones. Eating foods high in fat content can trigger any stones that have developed in your gall bladder. The stones can become lodged in the bile duct or the common duct, which causes VERY severe pain that can increase for several hours. This can be dangerous if the stones are not able to pass on through the ducts.

Be aware that once you have a gallstone attack, you will likely continue having them at seemingly random times in the future. Time between attacks can vary from just a few days to weeks, months, even years.

You should talk to your regular doctor about this.

Yikes, really? How are they diagnosed if the pain is not there? Since the pain has not yet returned (and of course I pray it doesn't), should I just try to eat less fat and hope for the best, or go in and have it checked?

Never thought about gallstones. Thanks. It was not fun that day. (But the cat scan did not show a kidney stone so your dx piqued me.)
