Air America Radio will lose its New York flagship station, WLIB-AM, on Aug. 31. While the left-leaning radio networks original lease for the Inner City station ran out March 31, AAR managed to get an extension which only lasts until Aug. 31, according to an informed source.
Through an agreement with ICBC, WLIB will be operated as a joint venture and programmed by P1, a company run by former Clear Channel and Jacor Communications executive Randy Michaels. Michaels is expected to program a progressive-talk format, but replace AARs network programming with more local programming. A likely addition to the new lineup: Ed Schultz, the left-of-center talker syndicated by P1.
To be clear, Air America will not go silent on the New York City airwaves. We do not, however, comment on hypothetical speculation, said an AAR spokesperson.

A few years back, there was a post about Drudge hosting some local show in FL. It had the online links, and I followed
one. Well, the link was to Randi's station, and her show was on...
I remember a post that said she is good friends of the wife of the prosecutor that's been trying to go after Limbaugh, and
Randi was pushing for charges on the air.

Anyone, check the stock for whichever company makes "Mr. Microphone!"

Here's one DUmmie thread: Before even looking at it I will predict the following posts:
"Republican fascists are mucking with the numbers! EVERYONE I know--even my Republican grandmother--listens to Air America--EVERYONE!"
"This is a good thing, people. Now Air America can stop being such a corporate shill and be what it SHOULD be--an independent, take-no-prisoners voice speaking truth to power!"
"The Chimp did it again."
"America died today."
"I listen religiously in my parents' basement while I am writing the book that will blow open this whole Bush Fascist Nazi Regime. Of course, now I fear for my life."
"Bullsh*t. F***, this, F*** Bush, and F*** YOU AIR AMERICA! I sent HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS supporting you--NOT ONE MORE DIME from THIS millionaire DUmmie!"

My favorite post on that SMALL thread (they must be in denial):
"since AAR doesn't own stations it'll have to move in various cities periodically. Apparently, this is normal. Kharmatrain is a DU'er who worked in radio for a while. It can be considered economically to AAR's advantage NOT to own actual radio stations (too much capital required to keep infrastructure going). "
In other words, nothing to see, move on! LOL--DUmmie Denial--CATCH IT!

Looks like Barney Fife put on a few pounds since his days in Mayberry--or maybe he's on steroids for some medical condition and his face ballooned up--Prednisone or Cortisone can do that.

In a way, I'm kind of disappointed. I hope they survive. Nothing hurts liberals more than when they say out loud what they REALLY think.

"Be assured that, should the Democrats regain Congress, one of their first initiatives will be to restore "the Fairness Doctrine". "It would mean the end of talk radio."
IMHO, watch the libs "spin" it this way (probably at some WELL PUBLICIZED C-SPAM type of news conference FILLED with Lame Stream Media, i.e. Bush hating, reporters).
"Air America is ceasing operations on Aug 31 to comply with the "McLame-Reingold" bill, requiring no one sided political campaigning on the airwaves 60 days before a national election. We therefore are proud at this time, as law abiding Americans, to nationally take the lead in following that law."
We hope that other "one-sided" political talk radio shows, will follow suit, and will join us in our efforts, as law abiding citizens, to follow our lead to insure a fair, impartial, legal, AND FINALLY LEGITIMATE 2006 national election result."

Those Dummy posts are priceless!
1. AAR is fine, the audience is growing
they are probably going to switch to a station that can deliver a stronger signal and a bigger audience

Randi was pushing for charges on the air.
When she tx out of WPB, just after the alGore fiasco (the attempted theft in 2000) I heard her seriously discussing with rep. conyer from Ill. that alGore should run for Governor in Florida try to unseat Jeb Bush!??!
Talk about I.Q.s of those two people???
ROFLMAO!!!
