Iraq is the #1 issue ?

What does it matter what happens in Iraq if the American Southwest turns into Oaxaca ? What does it matter what happens in Iraq if Mexico is in a permanent position to manipulate American domestic politics ?

yep...the image of kids and broken up families being deported would be an even worse PR nightmare for the President.

Really ? You think Joe Sixpack has any sympathy for someone who wants to steal his job ?

This is not 'ebb and flow'.

This is Jimmy Carter during gas lines. This is Lyndon Johnson after Tet. This is a mortally wounded administration that has lost the confidence of the American people.

Sure. Ignore polls. And get ready for a very rude shock this November.

Joe Sixpack is a small demographic. You can bet your life that herding people out of the country would be bad PR for anybody who does it.

More nonsense. Really, sinkspur, you are batting three for three.

There was the one where you insisted that a raid is a greater threat to America than demographic conquest.

And the one where you insisted that baby baptism equals 'growth' for the American Catholic church.

Now you think the American people can't be as tough as they have to be to protect their country. The last century is littered with the carcasses of countries that thought that.

Well, I was right on the first two, and I'm right on the third issue as well.

You don't know jack about media impressions if you think the American people would tolerate images, day after day, of crying women and children being herded out of the country.

Sam, you're a perfect example of a man with an education who doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.

No kidding. And then, on the same afternoon after we find out his polling has gone further into the toilet, he again comes out and pitches his amnesty program and almost "threatens" anyone who doesn't agree with this insanity as not supporting the "American" tradition of "immigration" ... So, he's calling illegal immigration, as "immigration", but immigration is a legal process and illegal immigration isn’t --- and next he is telling me I am addicted to oil but has nothing to say about domestic exploration of oil - INSTEAD, HE HAS BEEN LISTENING TO ARNOLD, AND THINKS HE CAN TURN HIS POLLING AROUND (NATIONAL) BY PUTTING ON ARNOLD'S ECOLOGY-COAT, which only works in California, not national --- he's just angering many of his base even more.

Tone-deaf. He thinks Arnold picked up in the polls in California by going Green, so he thinks he can do the same. But, playing "Arnold" isn't going to save him. It will just make him look even more like a RINO than he already does. By this summer, with the gas prices, he will drop even further into the toilet, and probably be in the 20 percent approval range. He ends up angering more than gaining approval.

The only thing that will turn it around for him, is to get Osama, or have America unite in reaction to some domestic terrorist attack or something like that. Or, War against Iran, though that could even go either way as far as polls.

The thing about the terrorist attack is, it would be likely that the attack will come from terrorists who have come over the Mexican border - at that point even a lot of conservatives will be calling for his impeachment.

He has lost much of the Republican image regarding "security" - the reason is because of the Mexican border. And the sad thing is, if and when the next attack comes, it will very likely be because he wasn't securing the Mexican border.

If it goes down like that, man, he SHOULD be impeached, even if it isn't an impeachable act. Disneyland blows up, and he's finished.

Another crazy thing that could happen is, one of those illegal aliens waving those communist Che Guevara flags goes and blows up a bomb or does the suicidal sammie, and bingo, everyone will be saying that Bush just helped inaugurate America's own version of "Palestinian terrorists" in the form of illegal invading Che Guevara types.

Joe Sixpack is a small demographic ? You mean that HALF the American workforce that is composed of non-college graduates ? And why not lump in liberal arts grads from third or fourth tier universities who are no better off ?

It's your contention, then, the half the American workforce could easily be replaced by unskilled immigrants?

Joe Sixpack isn't as cynical as you. I have much more respect for Joe Sixpack than you do.

Most service jobs are repetitive, routine. Hardly brain surgery. Light manufacturing is the same everywhere.

Considering how many American jobs were exported to unskilled labor in China and Mexico over the past half century, sure, illegals will just seep from job category to job category unless stopped.

Respect ? You think Joe Sixpack is soft headed and stupid. You think media sob stories will prevent him from doing what he has to do to protect himself, his family, his community, and his country.

Someone who wants your job is not your friend.

in many service jobs - yes. food service, basic construction, delivery and trucking services, stock people in retail stores, fast food workers, maintenance workers - the list is endless. think about the people you come into contact with every day, what jobs they are performing, what skills they really have.

Joe Sixpack doesn't vote. So, frankly, Joe's not doing the very thing that could protect him.

And, his wife WILL be influenced by media sob stories.

sinkspur is correct on that point - most americans would NOT support forced roundups, deportations, "concentration camp" style detention centers. no way. go after the employers and the landlords, many of these people will deport themselves.

right now most americans are against amnesty. over-reach on this thing, accrue public sympathy for the illegals, and you'll see a majority of americans supporting amnesty. and once that happens, its over, the 12 million here will be just the start. at that point, you might as well just cede the US southwest into a homeland state.

Yes, exactly.

How much skill is really required for most service or light manufacturing jobs ?

I don't think mass deportations would be necessary but even if they were I don't believe Joe Sixpack would have any problem with that whatsoever. Anyone who talks about 'comprehensive immigration reform' is frankly trying to buy campaign contributions and/or hispanic votes with his job. This is a war for survival for non college educated American workers and in war you harden your heart and do what is necessary.

Joe Sixpack most definitely does vote.

And his wife will be more influenced by her husband keeping his job than media sob stories.

when was the last time he called Islam as religion of peace? Is Miers on the court?

I have noticed how conservatives are very very unforgiving and petty people

""Well I'm in Texas too and I know all about the illegals taking over but if you voted for Bush 4 times knowing he wasn't all that Conservative, just right of center, then"

I am convinced that what conservatives really want is a conservativer version of Clinton. It was clear back in 1999, that Bush wasnt conservative.

he oppossed anti-illegals legislation like CA's back when he was gov.

he ran on medicare prescription drugs and no child left behind.

he said it was wrong to balance the budget on the backs of the poor.

yet conservatives didnt listen. All they could see was a guy who got 70% of the vote in his 1998 re-election.

Bush hasnt lied, or broken any promises (unlike his father). Conservatives have no one to blame but themselves
