During and after WWII, the Ukrainian people joyfully killed thousands of Jews for the German Swine. They are among the most anti-Jewish hateful people on earth.==
Same was early during polish-ukranian wars of 17th century. Cossacks of Khmelnitskii killed almost all jews in Ukraine.
They hated jews as oppressors even more then poles. Lot later when they were in Russian Empire all the jewish "pogroms" happened in ukranian and moldovians towns.
WHY? Do you know the answer?
I see it like the multiculturism failure. It failed in 17, 18, 19 century. And today.

You ask why the Jews in Russia and elsewhere have been the target of pogroms and near genocide?
Another poster implied the answer-jealousy.The Jewish people have excelled in so many endeavors. The less successful resented their talents and reacted violently under the guise they were protecting their country from some nebulous"Jewish Conspiracy".

I will most likely get in trouble for my answer, but I feel the religion of those people is responsible for instilling the hatred for all things Hebrew.

You know, all my great-grandparents had to flee your pogroms... and from what I've been able to learn, at least one of them was just a tailor. Obviously, you think that a tailor is an 'oppressor', justifying the Ukrainian progroms that forced him to leave.
And my grandfather fought in WWII as a US Army minesweeper in Europe. (whoops, Jews aren't supposed to fight for the country they live in, because it's not really their home)
Not to mention my father, who served in the USAF during Vietnam...
Or myself.

WHY? Do you know the answer? A) Pogroms were state organized- the capital of the state being in Moscow. It was executed by the officers, soldiers and policemen- the Black Hundreds, not the average villager or urbanite who had Jews for neighbours.
B) Sure I know why the pogroms happened in Ukraine and not in Russia. Because the enlightened Russian Imperial government had something called the Pale of Settlement - which controlled Jewish movements and didn't allowed them to live in Russia. Jews didn't live in Russia- there weren't any Jews for Russians to kill.

Because Russians forbid Jews to live in Russia and confined them to "the Pale". Then used classic imperialist tactic of playing off one group against another to keep their own power in place. THATS why.

How on earth can you claim that the Jews in the Ukraine "oppressed" the Cossacks and that is the reason for the pogroms?

My family is not Jewish, however for the record my Uncle was fighting Hitler for the French Foreign Legion during WWII, because he just immigrated to France from Poland real close to the Ukrainian border. Anyway his unit was captured by the Germans and they were taken as POW's my Uncle because he was Russian/Ukrainian ended up in Auschwitz while his comrades ended up in a regular POW camp. My point is that there is more to the story that meets the eye. One thing that I would love to read up about is Polish-German relations before and after both World Wars.
