There are rumors that they (Zinni and some other generals)are urging Powell to run for President in 2008. Powell and Rumsfeld were at one another's throat most of the time. Powell loyalists in the Pentagon were reporting back to Powell on what Rumsfeld was trying to do in terms of reform efforts. Powell, Armitage, and Wilkerson were major leakers to the media.

I came across a blog and posted it to the Sunday a.m. Talk Show Thread a few weeks back. It's a group that are 'progressive dems' and are trying to show they are 'security-minded' by getting dems who have served in the military or security services in various elected positions (we need to watch and counter these).
They want to draft Zinni for Pres.
