When I was doing research I found it interesting that the "Irish fairies" weren't cute & sweet (like our fairy tales)..

I recall my mom used to refer to a neighbor who "yelled like a banshee"! I assumed it was some wild animal, like a jackal?

Are you still going to DC now that the rally has been changed to Monday?

I bought my "seed potatoes" today. They were just regular potatoes!!! Bought two different types. White cooking & redskins. Have my tires ready & hopefully tomorrow is the planting day

Going to reread the Tire thread again Iowa

Walt Disney had a series of shows about Irish fairies on the old "Wonderful World of Disney" TV show.

It featured leprechauns and banshees. The banshee was a very bad omen.

I believe I am still going to D.C. next Monday. The situation has gotten very complicated. Instead of having the rally at 2 P.M. on Sunday, it is now at 10 A.M. on Monday, meaning I have to catch the Metro at 8 A.M. and fight the rush hour crowd. I also will have to leave on Sunday afternoon and rent a motel room. Instead of a 14 hour day trip I am looking at an over 24 hour endurance contest.

That really screwed everything up for me, big time.

Nine out of ten FReepers who were going won't be there. And only about 50 were going anyway.

That expression is often used in England as well.
