:::FreeRepublic's Threat Matrix:::
Afghanistan Calls for Crackdown at Border
(Full Story)

Pakistan needs to do more to crack down on terrorism along the Pakistani-Afghan border, a spokesman for Afghan President Hamid Karzai said Tuesday.

Rahim Karimi said in the news conference that Afghanistan need greater "cooperation" from both its eastern neighbor and the international community in its battle against Islamic militants.

Coalition and Afghan forces have in recent days been fighting fierce battles against Taliban fighters near the Afghan-Pakistan border.

Bush hints at flexibility for border issues

Snip: U.S. President George W. Bush suggested Monday the United States is flexible on working out which new identification cards will be acceptable at the border with Canada, saying they shouldn't be "restrictive."

Clarification on tuberculosis arrests

Snip: The two arrested men had failed to cooperate with the health care providers for their own care. The Health Department will only go to that extreme "whenever we have exhausted all opportunities and have made all efforts" to help the individual, according to Olivarez. The county does not want to discourage anybody with tuberculosis from seeking assistance as this puts the whole community at risk. The Rio Grande Valley is second to Houston in the number of TB cases in an MSA. However, as a percentage of population, TB is higher in the RGV.

A lot of the reason for this is due to the high flow of immigrants through this region. Anybody being treated currently does not have to fear being arrested; that only happens in rare and extreme cases to provide monitored treatment for the individuals.

Taking this opportunity to remind everyone that tomorrow is an election day. If we want to be part of the solution and not the problem, it's time to get out and VOTE!

Those not doing their job don't deserve to be there, and those who uphold our conservative values and goals need to be installed in those positions IMHO. Anyway, off my soapbox for the night!

"MSM never tires of antiwar propaganda"
May 23, 2006

by David Limbaugh ( bio | archive | contact )

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "With the mainstream media's (MSM's) co-conspiratorial role in highlighting the bad news, suppressing the good news and repeating the Democrats' propaganda, it's no wonder a large chunk of the American people have bought into the Democrats' revisionist history of the Iraq War."

Well now.
I hardly ever post a vanity, but I'll do it now.

THANKS to JustPiper for letting me know that
The Laurie Roth show is coming back.

Thank You God for hearing our prayers for Laurie
Roth's recovery.

In Jesus' name.
Amen.

The Roth Show is returning to national radio again on June 12th, 7-10 pm PAC each weekday. My flagship station will be KSBN 1230 am out of Spokane WA. You all may have heard why I disappeared for many many months. I was nearly killed when a deer hit me when I was riding my motorcycle. It broke nearly everything in my face, jaw and head.........let alone a brain injury which left me in a coma for some time. Well, I didn't die and I am feeling great after months of therapy, healing and recovery. Miracles happened from the first day on. I will share my experience with you when I start airing again. I can't wait to return to radio and visit with you again! Dr. Road Kill returns! I need your help. If you want me to air in your market, please call your local talk station for me. Thanks so much.

I want to thank from my heart everyone who prayed for my recovery, sent cards and letters, sent money and believed somehow I would return to radio one day. I have been deeply touched by your love and support. This was a major hit in every way for my family and I. However, I am here to tell you that the Lord met us repeatedly in this tragedy. We were taken care of as we trusted God. My docs kept telling me that I was healing ahead of science....that I should be dead.............that I was a walking miracle. For that matter I did have to learn how to walk again without falling and talk again with all the muscle and nerve damage in my mouth. I couldn't even close my lower lip for months, kiss my husband and I drooled. This has not been an easy journey back. It is quite miraculous that I can even think and function. All I can say is this...............America haters, liberals who want to rewrite the constitution and outlaw God with all of our rights, terrorists who want to forcibly convert us or kill us........you better call your therapists and get back on your medication because the very dangerous "Annie Oakley of the Airwaves" is back and I haven't softened up with the accident at all. The gloves are off and I am in the ring! Come and get me.

"Bird flu victim may have been infected by his son"
HELEN BRANSWELL
Canadian Press

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The World Health Organization appears to be edging closer to suggesting that an Indonesian man who died from H5N1 avian flu Monday may have been infected by his 10-year-old son, not through exposure to sick poultry or some other environmental source.

WHO officials had earlier expressed the theory that a thorough investigation might reveal a potential source of contagion in the community, such as use of contaminated chicken feces as manure. But expert disease investigators seem to be ruling out that possibility, a spokesperson for the WHO said from Geneva.

“There's no supporting evidence to suggest that this is a continuing environmental source that we've uncovered yet in the investigation,” said WHO spokesperson Dick Thompson.

“The investigation is still ongoing. We wouldn't discount the possibility that it is human-to-human transmission.”"

"CAIR and Islamic Jihad"
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=22557 ^ | Joe Kaufman

Posted on 05/23/2006 12:47:46 AM PDT by croak

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Last week, I attended the funeral for Daniel Wultz, the young boy from Weston, Florida, who was the unfortunate victim of a suicide bombing that took place in Tel Aviv, Israel, one month ago. I stood there, amongst hundreds of people, to pay my respects to the friends and family of this beautiful boy. Sadness and anger welled up inside me – sadness for what Daniel’s loved ones had to go through and anger for the event that took this 16-year-old’s life and for the powerful who allow those responsible – both directly and indirectly – to walk free on this earth, including within the United States. One organization, in particular, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), demands attention for its past and current history connecting it to the main group involved in the attack – Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ)."

"More aliens seek driver's licenses in Maryland"
By Keyonna Summers
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
May 23, 2006

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Since March, the average weekly number of driver's license applications by immigrants and illegal aliens has nearly doubled in Maryland, where legal residency is not required of applicants, according to the state Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA).

The number of out-of-country license applications, or those for noncitizens, has surged from an average of 946 a week to 1,800 a week since March, MVA spokesman Buel Young said.

MVA officials initially attributed the increase to multiple appointment bookings by foreign-born applicants, Mr. Young said. But the average number of out-of-country applications remained high even after the MVA last month stopped taking appointments and began processing twice as many applications through a walk-in process, he said.

"I don't really have an answer" for the increase, Mr. Young said."

"Senator Questions Sheriff Checkpoints"

POSTED: 8:07 pm MDT May 22, 2006

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "May 22, 2006 -- A traffic checkpoint uncovers dozens of illegal immigrants in Hudspeth County, and it now has a Texas senator calling the operation a human rights violation.

As you saw exclusively on KFOX, this weekend Hudspeth County sheriff's deputies set up a car insurance checkpoint 90 miles east of El Paso, which led to the apprehension of more than 100 illegal immigrants.

Monday Texas State Sen. Juan Hinojosa sent a letter to the governor publicly condemning a similar operation conducted by the El Paso Sheriff's Office, arguing it could lead to racial profiling."

Chinese central government launches religious propaganda campaign in the US

By Michael Ireland
Chief Correspondent, ASSIST News Service

MIDLAND, TEXAS (ANS) -- The second China Bible Ministry Exhibition in the United States, sponsored by the Chinese government, opened in Atlanta, May 19.
Held at the Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, Northeast Atlanta, the Bible Ministry Exhibition of the Church in China will run through May 24. The first exhibition of the same kind was held in Los Angeles from late April to early May.

According to China Aid Association (CAA), "Those who know well about the operation of Chinese government and its sanctioned religious organizations should acknowledge this exhibition is nothing but a PR campaign to cover up the religious persecution image in the US."

"It's rather ironic that Beijing House Church pastor Cai Zhuohua is serving for three years sentence in the Chinese prison for printing Bibles in China since last year, while the propaganda message of this Bible exhibition is that there is freedom to print Bibles in China," said Rev. Bob Fu, President of CAA.

Fu added: "It's a shame for the organizers to invite the top Communist Party religious persecutor like Mr. Ye Xiaowen and Ms. Cao Shengjie to spread lies to American people."

CAA says that as the director of the State Administration for Religious Affairs (SARA) of China, Mr. Ye Xiaowen "is directly responsible for hundreds of arrests of House church pastors and other persecution cases to independent religious groups. Ms. Cao Shengjie is the leader of the Chinese Communist Party controlled organization with religious uniforms, which is called the China Christian Council (CCC)."

CAA called American people of faith to contact the organizers to address their concern.

Armed men 'seize' Mali military

A group of armed men have attacked and seized two military bases near the remote north-eastern Malian town of Kidal, witnesses say.
A local journalist said the men, wearing turbans and driving pick-up trucks, had also taken control of the town but this has not been confirmed.

It is not clear if there are any casualties but an officer said he had heard shooting.

Tuareg rebels used to be active in the area but have signed a peace deal.

Google dumps news sites
that criticize radical Islam

Search giant axes another news page,
calls terrorism discussion 'hate content'

© 2006 WorldNetDaily.com

Search engine giant Google has cut off its news relationship with a number of online news publications that include frank discussions of radical Islam – the New Media Journal becoming the latest termination, as its owner just discovered.

Frank Salvato, who began the agreement with Google News last September, said he received a reply from the company's help desk Friday indicating there had been complaints of "hate speech" on his site, as first reported by media watchdog Newsbusters.org.

The e-mail, which cited three articles that dealt with radical Islam and its relationship to terrorism, read:

Hi Frank,

Thanks for writing. We received numerous reports about hate content on your site, and after reviewing these reports, decided to remove your site from Google News. We do not allow articles and sources expressly promoting hate speech viewpoints in Google News (although referencing hate speech for commentary and analysis is acceptable).

For example, a number of the complaints we looked at on your site were found to be hate content:

http://www.newmediajournal.us/staff/peck/05102006.htm
http://www.newmediajournal.us/staff/stock/05082006.htm
http://www.newmediajournal.us/guest/imani/04222006.htm

We hope this helps you understand our position.

Regards,
The Google Team

Newsbusters says it has observed a pattern of intolerance toward conservative sites that deal with radical Islam and terrorism.

Rusty Shackleford, owner of The Jawa Report, received a similar e-mail message March 29 informing him: "Upon recent review, we've found that your site contains hate speech, and we will no longer be including it in Google News."

Two weeks later, Jim Sesi's MichNews.com was cut off, with Google providing three examples of "hate speech" by conservative writer J. Grant Swank, Jr.

Newsbusters commented: "At first blush, one can easily ignore such business decisions by the most powerful company on the Internet as being routine. However, on closer examination, such behavior could give one relatively small technological corporation (when measured by the size of its workforce) a degree of political might that frankly dwarfs its current financial prowess."

The media watchdog noted columnist and blogger Michelle Malkin wrote in February 2005 her difficulties in becoming part of Google News. Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs had a similar complaint.

When Google News launched its beta site in April 2002, it said its mission was to construct an unbiased news engine free of human intervention using new methods of aggregating news from sources worldwide.

According to the April Nielsen/NetRatings report, 49 percent of all searches conducted in the U.S. in March 2006 were carried out on Google.

Along with the dropping of conservative news providers, Google has received other complaints of liberal bias.

Last June, a conservative book publisher said Google rejected his ad for a book critical of Bill and Hillary Clinton while continuing to accept anti-Bush themes.

Eric Jackson, CEO of World Ahead, said his ads for "Their Lives: The Women Targeted by the Clinton Machine" were rejected, without further explanation, due to "unacceptable content."

As WND reported, 98 percent of all political donations by Google employees went to support Democrats.

CEO Eric Schmidt gave the maximum legal limit of donations to Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry and to primary candidate Howard Dean.

Schmidt also contributed the maximum amount to Sen. Clinton, whose role in helping her husband intimidate his female accusers is addressed in the new book.

In May 2005, Google rejected an attempt by the conservative activist group RightMarch.com to run ads critical of Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., while continuing to run attack ads against besieged House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas.

Also, Google agreed to allow the communist Chinese government to have the search engine block "objectionable" search terms such as "democracy."

In addition, the company came under fire for an editorial decision to rank news articles in search results by "quality," giving preferential placement to large and predominately liberal media outlets such as CNN and the BBC over conservative news sources, even if they are more recent or pertinent.

"5/23/06 Judges, Parole Boards And Probation Must Be Held Accountable"
By: Michael P. Tremoglie, Special To The Evening Bulletin
05/23/2006

COMMENTARY SNIPPET: "I wrote an article for the May 16 Evening Bulletin about Officer Kerski's murder stating that - without knowing for certain -the murderer would probably have a prior criminal record, more than likely for a violent felony or possibly even a prior murder. I also said we need to hold judges, parole boards, and probation offices more accountable for their actions.

Kerski's suspected killer, Solomon Montgomery, was accused of robbing a man in Olney in 2001 by shoving a handgun into the victim's mouth and shooting him. He was acquitted by Common Pleas Court Judge Renee Cardwell Hughes in a non-jury trial. Montgomery is also wanted in California for felony offenses.

Meanwhile, all Mayor Street can do is moan about enacting more gun laws. Why isn't Mayor Street moaning about Judge Hughes?

Why isn't Gun Control Incorporated or the ACLU noting that these murderers have prior criminal convictions with little or no jail time?

Why don't criminal justice professors mention the very salient fact that a majority of murderers have prior criminal records - and some even have a prior conviction for murder?"
