When people were asked "There have been a number of incidents in which the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) is alleged to have behaved unethically or treated people unfairly during audits. Do you believe that these were isolated incidents, or is this something you think occurs fairly regularly?" Forty-two percent said "Isolated" and 43% said "Fairly Regularly." Far from the "vast majority." But was was interesting was when they ask "In your dealings with the IRS do you feel you have been treated fairly or unfairly, or have you not had enough experience with the IRS to say?" Forty-nine percent said "Fairly" and only 5 percent said "Unfairly." And how much do you want to bet the majority of that 5% are just pissed the IRS is making them pay the taxes they owed.
