I'll guarantee you that the vast majority of Americans would agree with that characterization of the IRS!Last year a poll was done about taxes. When people were asked "There have been a number of incidents in which the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) is alleged to have behaved unethically or treated people unfairly during audits. Do you believe that these were isolated incidents, or is this something you think occurs fairly regularly?" Forty-two percent said "Isolated" and 43% said "Fairly Regularly." Far from the "vast majority." But was was interesting was when they ask "In your dealings with the IRS do you feel you have been treated fairly or unfairly, or have you not had enough experience with the IRS to say?" Forty-nine percent said "Fairly" and only 5 percent said "Unfairly." And how much do you want to bet the majority of that 5% are just pissed the IRS is making them pay the taxes they owed.
Uh Huh! And EXACTLY who commissioned this poll and how much do you suppose they paid in order to get EXACTLY result they ordered?
A poll as evidence of anything is absolutely meaningless unless you also site the methodology used and the exact questions asked.
And how many said they "... not had enough experience with the IRS to say"?
And what do you think such a "study" might prove? Is this the only "study" you're going to present in defense of the IRS? I would have thought you could do better than that, Nightie.
