Maybe some of these college students will finally get a clue, become curious and start doing some reading/investigating/thinking of their own.
While I was finishing my degree (in the 1990's) my university library had a big promotion making fun of books which had been banned at some point in history. The slogan was "Read a Banned Book!", and numerous books which had been banned at some time or another were listed for checkout and reading.
It was pretty funny, but I guess the implication was that books had been banned historically only for violating Conservative mores. How funny these uber-leftists want to now be the ones doing the banning, not the ones flaunting the ban!!

Perhaps it has something to do with the ideological isolation under which most universities exist. The "diversity" of political, social, and ideological thought is limited to the far left. The professors live in ivory towers within these institutions, creating an almost incestuous relationship within the campuses. It's a classic example of "group think" with very little or no "tolerance" for any dissent. The hypocritical nature of what these universities are doing apparently hasn't occurred to them.
