Hard work is of course behind it all of course, but it will still will be a roll of the dice when get gets taken down. He can only get luckly so many times until hard work and deterimination catchs up with him. We are deterimed to keep on forcing him to play his luck until one day his luck runs out.

I don't know all the details, but I've seen a lot of examples of just what you're talking about. Including $25 million bounties [IIRC] on Bin Laden's and al-Zawahiri's heads. IMHO in almost five years money hasn't proven to be nearly the motivator you feel it might be.

A few years ago I read that the money amounts were so large that they had no meaning to the tribal leaders. Sort of like an award here was for a gazillion dollars.

I'd forgotten just how much activity had been occurring in Kunar the past several weeks. That's where we lost four soldiers during an attack in mid March, 400 lbs. of explosives were seized the day prior, a girls' school was torched in late March, and just last week an Afghan checkpoint was attacked.

Meanwhile, Winnie-the-Pooh got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Just thought you'd like to know.

That means nothing to the Pakistani tribal villager or Taliban Joe sitting in a cave in the mountains if they even know there is a reward. What does mean something is if you get an intermedary to talk to Taliaban Joe about about what he wants; more sheep, a couple hundred bucks, a house somewhere to settle down in. And, then have the inbetween guy offer him say a few sheep and some money for providing him info about where say another guy is who Taliban Joe knows is connected to the al-Qaeda and Taliaban leadership. And, then the middle man talks to that guy and sees if he can can be bought to sell out someone higher and if not we pick him up.

That is one way of doing it. Another is the Iranian way they have done in southern Iraq of giving money and food to large numbers of locals in the south in exchange for their loyality and assisstance. We could do that and make several hundred locals our eyes and ears in the area.

Money is noting to the Pashtuns...loyalty to tribe....is foremost.

Look at that farmer who last year who found that wounded Navy Seal after the ambush....he took the Seal back to his village and hid him. The whole village would have died protecting that SEAL...if the Taliban had come.

That edict is what Bin Laden is using to stay one step ahead of us now.

Well, since right now we have Michael Rapaport on and NO news on Operation Mountain Lion, I don't think it would necessarily have had to be Juan.

Don't hold your breath though, Bin Laden has gone very deep.

About 666 feet?

I am sorry I told you there was going to be an update. Apparently they are going to run it dead last. American Idol news is up next.

Off to clean the other bathroom.

I will listen in case something accidentally comes on.

That's my point. You're speaking like that's not already taking place. I'm saying it is. But I'll have to go digging for more details, because I don't have any off the top of my head.

It is to a certain degree, but not as much as I would like. The US is really way to hesitant to play by the kind of rules you need to play by in that part of the world.

I have lost my satellite signal due to a thunderstorm moving through. Right in Virginia, could you update us if there is any news. Palcott is embedded with the Marines.

No update on Fox yet. Must be a heck of a news blackout. (Or fight)

See, you are more charitable, and maybe you are right. I was grumbling to myself about Fox's penchant for tabloid news.

Rumsfeld is going to be on the Tony Snow show. I will see if he says anything.

The exit passes are being held since it was believed that too many opposition forces escaped during the previous Operation Anaconda.

Would anyone else around her like to see them just go straight to "Operation Melting Glass" or "Operation Kunar Crater"?

Fox is supposed to have another report from Afghanistan shortly.

Wouldn't it be just too cool if FoxNews ends up with the scoop that OsamaRamadamma is dead?!
