This issue is a big part of the reason that Bush's approval rating is around 35%. He has been horrible on this issue and has betrayed his base, his party, and the oath he swore. Never before have I been so angry at a Republican president over anything. I regret the time I spent campaigning door to door for him in 2000 and my votes in 2000 and 2004. His immigration "policy" will be a disaster for our country.

Agreed. I'm counting down the time left in his presidency.

The one hope I have is that maybe the 2006 midterm elections will be a wakeup call.

Given Iraq or Mexico, I would have much rather he be strong on an actual invasion. Of course, a good president could have handled both.
