The Whitehouse Is Considering Deploying Troops to the Border, Why Now?

The Whitehouse, on a radical reversal of it previous position, has signaled the Pentagon to explore border control patrols, according to a report from Lolita Baldor of the Associated Press.

Curiously, the announcement follows the "Minuteman Goes To Washington " tour of the country by Minuteman Tony Dolz. Tony carried a petition calling for the immediate deployment of troops at the border.

Only a few months earlier, Department of Defense Secretary Rumsfeld had disavowed any responsibility for the security crisis at the border...
