New 'Today' Co-Host an Anti-War Protester: Entire Pre-Text for War Built on Lies
Posted by Brent Baker on April 6, 2006 - 12:41.
Meredith Vieira, one of the hosts on ABC's daytime show The View, who announced on Thursday's program that she has agreed to replace Katie Couric as co-host of NBC's Today, marched in an anti-Iraq war protest back in August of 2004. On the Monday, August 30, 2004 edition of The View, the former CBS 60 Minutes reporter told viewers that she attended the anti-Bush protest held in New York City on the Sunday before the Republican convention opened, insisting: "I didn't go anti-Bush or pro-Kerry. I'm still so upset about this war and I'm so proud I live in a country where you can protest." She showed a photo of herself marching with her pre-teen daughter and her husband, Richard, who was the senior political producer at CBS News for most of the 1980s. Behind her in the photo: A protest sign featuring a W, for George W. Bush, with a slash through it.
Earlier in 2004, she declared of the Iraq war: "Everything's been built on lies. Everything! I mean the entire pre-text for war." And, with war impending in March of 2003, Vieira argued that anti-war protests "should be consistent and repeated every day, I believe." On other episodes of The View Vieira has also made clear her opposition to the death penalty and when guest Ann Coulter charged that liberals hate America, Vieira called that stupid" and became defensive: But some people wrap themselves in the flag -- I mean, that's what some liberals are against. Then she charged: "Just like McCarthy: 'I'm just being patriotic.'"

Well, we've all got our little time-wasting pleasures, I suppose. Lunch with the missus sounds nice. Anyway, I was just busting ya. But seriously...life's too short! Go fishing!
I don't watch the show much since I have a day job but I understand there is one who is somewhat conservative...and she just happens to be the best lookin of the bunch. Go figure!
Exactly! And Meredith mentioned her opposition to the death penalty-well of course these MSM swine have been after Bush since he was governor of Texas and just rumored to be a presidential contender-remember all the lurid stories of how many executions were taking place there? When was the last time you heard an MSM report of a Texas execution? You'd think Texas had abolished the death penalty! The MSM is truly disgraceful!
Meredith Vieira = Eva Braun II
ping
is she on "the spew"?
Coulter: "Based on, for example, the burning hatred of the American flag from the left. I mean, that is how liberals describe someone they want to denounce; they cite his affection for the flag, 'flag-waving yahoos.'"
Star Jones: "I love the flag. I'm a card-carrying Democrat." [Audience member yells "Woo!" at this declaration, at which point the audience begins to applaud as Jones continues]
Jones: "My biggest, the biggest, most wonderful thing in my life is my citizenship, so that's one down -- keep going. I love the flag!"
Coulter: "It could well be that you belong to the"
Vieira: "But some people wrap themselves in the flag -- I mean, that's what some liberals are against, to argue their point."
Behar: "Yeah, but they cover up their evil with the flag, and that is a sin."
Vieira: "Just like McCarthy: 'I'm just being patriotic.'"
Behar: "Yeah."
"Another liberal elitist on national television. *Yawn*"
Just what we would expect NBC to do.
NBC,CBS and ABC are all the same.
For years, they gave the news the way they wanted it to be.
Times have changed, FOX NEWS is here to stay.
I wonder why anyone would be surprised by the lamestream media action. It's NOT probably, it's the ONLY requirement for the job.
Bimbo brains on parade????
Part of the Job Requirements, why conservative women watch these shows galls me.
Wow, the news hired a lefty? I'm *so* surprised...
They should have hired an illegal for a nickel an hour...
Seriously, who watches TV for anything of substance? On another note, has anyone noticed that Rush is reporting things on his show as NEWS, that are two days old on the internet?
Well, we listen to Rush for the commentary after-the-fact, not breaking news.
Don't watch either network so it doesn't "affect" me much.
Yep, she was also on "Survivor." She's married to QB Tim Hasselbeck, brother of Matt.
I know that, but he used to be on point with new news, now it seems like recycled internet stories.
