In the second season, the team is headed by Peter Graves as Jim Phelps. Graves, brother of Gunsmoke star James Arness, is the leader we remember. In the first seasons the self-destructing tape came with a packet of pictures of potential agents to use on the assignment. Since Jim always picked the same people, this seemed sort of silly and was eventually dropped.

This was a good way to introduce the Special Guest Star of the episode. When Jim picked up their picture, their name would flash across the screen.

I also remember one time that this happened, Jim then threw the guy's picture in the discard pile. (He showed up later in the episode anyway.)

"Your assignment, should you choose to accept it" - still works well when I'm trying to get my daughter to do some less than enjoyable task for me.......

Today's FEEBLE

YOKE :

It was a really hot day at the office. There were about 20 people in close quarters and everyone was sweating, even with a fan on.

All of a sudden, people started to wrinkle their noses at an odor passing through the air. It was the most hideous smell anyone had ever smelt.

One man said, "Uh oh, someone's deodorant isn't working."

A man in the corner replied, "It can't be me. I'm not wearing any."

Good Morning troops! Good Morning everyone! I wasn't feeling well this morning so I took a nap. And in my attempt to wake up, I did some math in my head. I determined that by the end of the school year, I will have missed 85+ days of school out of 180 (roughly 47% of the school year). The total should be higher than that, because out of a 9.75 month school year I will have missed 5 months (51%). I'm missing 6-7 days from somewhere. So, math musings aside, here is today's humor attempt!

January 12, 1993

Richard Kyle won his Arizona House seat in November more easily than he had won the Republican primary in September. He and his primary opponent, John Gaylord, had tied and had agreed to settle things with one hand of five-card stud dealt by the speaker of the Arizona House.

Kyle's pair of sevens put him into the general election.
